Left my lawn looking like a mess

Bought this product after doing a lot of product research and from a professionals suggestion. We used it to spread crabgrass preventer At the beginning of the year. We did notice that we were still getting lots of crabgrass. Then we used it as a fertilizer a few months later and that’s when we saw that it wasn’t really spreading product like it should. It explains why we still had a lot of crab grass. somehow it drops fertilizer in narrow areas and leaves the other areas untouched. I went over my lawn twice in different directions and was left with think dark green stripes cross crossing every 6 feet or so. The rest of the lawn looked untouched by the fertilizer. I only had the edgeguard on while I was doing the outside edges of my yard. The interior I had it off. The edge guard doesn’t work very well. I can barely turn it where it needs to be anyway.

Lightweight. easy storage and cleanig, and consistent broadcast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Edge guard spreader is perfect for consistent broadcast application. The edge guard makes it easy to avoid broadcast in unwanted areas. I am pleased wth the simplicity of adjustmrnt and it's accommodation of various sized granules without clogging. Being lightweight it is easy to handle, clean and store. The plastic has been durable. I highly recommend this product.

Used Only Two Seasons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this item & was only able to use it two seasons. I stored it in a dry place but during my second spring the cable snapped w/the dispenser in the open position.
Pros: Easy to Use, Value
Cons: Didn't work as expected, poor quality

best spreader on the market to own

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been the proud owner of this wonderful machine for over 3 years now. the side guard is a delightful feature which allows you to stop wasting your material on your concrete instead of the turf. The settings are easy to adjust and as along as you wash your equipment after use, you will have it for many years to come.

No more grass in my flower beds!

My husband and I are avid users of Scotts products. We were looking at the new Snap Spreader system for its convenience. We already owned a Scotts spreader and were looking for a larger and easier solution. When we saw the Turf Builder Edge Guard DLX my husband and I loved it. It solved the issue of new grass seed growing in my beds and it gave him a larger size for all our lawn needs!!!!! Thanks guys for developing this product...
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective, works great for keeping seed out of flower beds!!!

Edge Gaurd Is Your Friend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used the spreader with Edgeguard since 2011 and it has proven to make applying fertilizer an error-free experience. It is easy to adjust settings and easy to see. It also is large enough to hold two bags of fertilizer, which is convenient if you have a big yard. It also allows the fertilizer to spray in one direction if one choose or it is optional to turn the Edgeguard feature off if one chooses a broader range of coverage. The Edgeguard feature actually helps to keep the product off the concrete when applying along bordered terrain. It is very durable and easy to store, in that the handles may easily be removed by unscrewing two bolts with your hand and collapsing the handle down to fold into the container. We highly recommend this one as it makes applying any type of seed or fertilizer quicker and fuss-free.
