The EdgeGuard is great for large yards with lots of flower beds.

I like the fact that this spreader holds a lot. The EdgeGuard is perfect for the many flower beds I have that I don't want certain chemicals on. It also cleans up easily.

I use the Edgeguard at he driveway, sidewalk, and curb, works great. I have had mind for about five years. I recommend Scott's products to all my friends.

Perfect for my yard

I really like the edge guard to prevent getting lawn fertilizer on unwanted areas such as driveways, sidewalks, flower beds and tree beds. Puts product where I want in a very good broadcast pattern.

Uneven spreading/Lawn striping no matter what

I've gained appreciation for several of Scotts products, but this one needs to be seriously pulled back and redesigned.
I purchased the spreader last Summer. I had some pretty ugly looking narrow streaks of dark green with surrounding wide swaths of lighter green. I assumed it was user error (me). I did plenty of research and did everything I could possibly do to prepare myself to get it right the next time.
I tried it a few months later, measuring spread on pavement to determine exact width, and carefully spreading on lawn using the correct width in between passes at the walking speed (i.e. dog walking) indicated on instructions. SAME RESULT.
I recently used it again this Spring and SAME RESULT. Unsightly streaks everywhere. Upon reading other reviews here I learned it's not just me, but appears to be a common issue with this model.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Didn't work as expected, ineffective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear that you had this issue with your Turf Builder Edgeguard DLX. If you have carefully measured the swath of your spreader and still have the same problem, this could be caused by a spreader that is out of calibration. Unfortunately, the DLX spreader cannot be calibrated outside the factory, and shouldn't need to be. We would be interested in hearing more about the issue so that we can take the appropriate steps to prevent this in the future. We also have a product guarantee.
