No instructions regarding settings came with the spreader and none are available on line as is indicated on the spreader stickers. Only trial and error are available!

Extremely Disappointed

Last spring I gave my 15 year old Scott’s broadcast spreader to a neighbor and purchased the Edge Guard DLX spreader and have used it three times. The very flimsy cable lever for the edge guard has busted, and now useless. Poor materials and poor design.

Good for striping lawn

Bought new in spring of 2023. Used twice. Convenient controls. Very disappointed with application of fertilizer. Both times I used it I had green lines in the yard. It makes stripes. Over application of fertilizer where the spreader rolls on yard. Returned to store and ordered another brand.

This spreader sucks

Piece of crap. Second one in three years. This time it blew apart top and bottom and can’t find parts anywhere. No competition so Scott’s sells us crap. Very disappointed. Won’t let me add the pictures on this site either. Low class operation ruining a great name.

The product is flawed

I have used the Scotts broadcast spreader for 20 years or more. Periodically, some part breaks and I have to buy a new one (this is expected with all equipment). However, the current version does not work like the previous ones. I now have brown stripes on my lawn. I can't tell what the difference is, but I will be calling Scott. (I tried to add a photo of my lawn, but the optional add photo did not work.)

Defective

Disappointing design. Have tried to walk faster, edge guard on and off etc. Leaves stripes in lawn due to wheel placement and design. Granules get bounced off wheels from height of drop mechanism and they also collect in wheel housing.

Avoid at all costs

Wheel fell off

I bought this spreader 4/20/22 and have used it only 5 times. Spreading fertilizer today and the drive wheel FELL OFF!!! Flimsy piece of junk
