[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I inherited the use of the Edgeguard spreader from my neighbor who didn't have room to store it. It has met my needs in a small yard with periodic use. The setting is determined by the Scotts product bag (fertilizer, fungus control, & bug control) and is easily dialed up. The wide reservoir (?...bucket?) makes loading the product efficient with no spillage. My favorite feature is the orange movable guard. This keeps the product from getting onto side areas where it is not wanted...the sidewalk and/or plantings. My foot can easily change it to the desired position. I am totally satisfied with Scotts Edgeguard.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Quality

The third time I used it this year and the wheel broke off as well as the spring that opens and closes it came loose, so now it doesn't work at all. Also holding the latch open with the spring they have on it gets hard on your hands. Didn't even use it that hard or fill it to capacity. Cleaned it after use and let it dry. Lot of work and money for something that lasted 2 times. My last spreader-not a Scotts- I had for 10 years.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, plastic breaks, spring breaks
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

great spreader

we have a lawn with about 20,000 sq feet and I use this spreader every spring and fall. It's a great spreader and covers the area quickly compared to a drop spreader. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have installed 18 bags of turf bilder, 1500 size on my yard. I live on a top of a hill where in the most part is flat, but there is some rough parts also. The spreader works very well for me. I would recomend this unit.

Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions
Cons: only slight overlapping
