Reluctant but satisfied.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had always used a drop spreader and was reluctant to purchase this spreader. But much to my surprise it does a good job, is light and easy to store and I very much recommend it. The lawn looks better because of the more even distribution.

Replaced my old Scotts drop that was made of steel

I did not think I would like changing from steel to plastic. However, the mechanics of this spreader work very well. I am able to wash out the unit and generally spray the whole thing off after a usage. After leaving it in the sun for a short while, it is ready to be put away in preparation for the next usage. I had a little trouble gauging how far apart to push the spreader, since it spreads rather than drops the fertilizer, but am getting the hang of it. Since the old drop began to rust, it dropped more fertilizer than it was supposed to. This unit uses the fertilizer as it should with no over spread or under spread. I like the smaller space that this unit stores in than the drop unit.
