Easy for anyone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded to this model and love the edgeguard feature. I wish I'd bought it sooner! Scott products will tell where to set the dial and then you're off. Couldn't be easier!

Definitely the BEST spreader!

I have had this spreader for years and it works GREAT! Not only do I use it for spreading Scotts lawn fertilizers, insect control and fungus control and grass seeds, I also use it to spread salt on my driveways in the winter. It's quite versatile and reliable.

Does the job

I received this spreader as a Christmas gift and have only used it one time. Overall it works well - it held a full 12,000 sq. ft. Scott's fertilizer bag and the EdgeGuard feature works as advertised.
Holding the release handle is a little uncomfortable and the plastic wheels meant a little more bounce/uneven application than I would have liked. My next one will have regular tires/wheels.
Pros: Effective

Uniform pattern of spreading product

I have found this spreader does a excellent job in providing a uniform pattern of spread, when I use it for seed or fertilizer.

The product started out great and it went down hill in a hurry

I bought the product for the Scott name and thought that all was well. I had an older model from a competitor and wanted a new one. I bought this unit and gave my old one to my son. I used the spreader three times and the thing broke. The cable that operates the chute broke right at the hopper. For the money I thought that the spreader would last longer than it did.
Pros: Value, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
