I couldn’t be happier with the Scotts® Turf Builder® EdgeGuard® DLX Broadcast Spreader! After years of using a drop spreader, switching to this broadcast model was a total game-changer. It covers a much wider area, which saves me a ton of time, and the EdgeGuard feature keeps fertilizer exactly where I want it—off the driveway and sidewalks.
The controls are easy to adjust, the spread is consistent, and the hopper holds a generous amount of product so I don’t have to stop and refill constantly. Everything about this spreader feels smooth and reliable.

Broken cable

I have owned and used this spreader for several years and it has worked perfectly until today. The cable that controls the EdgeGuard broke. I finished spreading the fertilize but ended up having to do more than usual sweeping of the fertilizer off the sidewalk. Sadly, I have not been able to buy a new cable. Any suggestions?

I bought this new two or three years ago. Have used it five or six times and the plastic drive shaft broke. It’s nearly new and ready for the dumpster. I cleaned it after every use and stored it inside.

Easy and effective

I love this spreader and use it for overseeding, fertilizer and even salt in the winter. My only request is that the design of the wheels be modified so that when the spreader is used on a wet lawn, whatever I’m spreading doesn’t get stuck on the inside of the wheels.

Cheap plastic garbage. Parts break in less than one season. The application settings are our kayak and our intended to lock you in to Scott’s products only. There is no table with application rates available anywhere that’s easy to find. They should be ashamed. This product is clearly a money grab.
