Green Streaks!

I bought this spreader a few years ago and have had OK luck with it. Until this spring. Last use I noticed more product was dropping directly below the spreader than was being spread outward. Was spreading Triple Action Southern weed and feed and now beginning to see green streaks in the yard, basically from where the product was dropping below the spreader - more than what was being spread outward. Looks like I need another spreader, but the prices have increased so much in the last few years - can no longer afford these. Go with a different spreader that costs less, no more than these last.

Worthless instructions, trying to figure out how to set for grass seed, and I can’t get anything but sites with pop up ads. No manual, even online has no seed info

Edgeguard DLX

I just took back my second Edgeguard DLX this year. Never again! Scotts is the major and I mean major manufacture of fertilizer in the good old USA, Period! Why buy anything but Scotts. Now the ugly, the Edgeguard DLX is just not up to any type of quality standards. I now have strips in lawn and it is ugly. No matter what I did with the spreader it just wasn't going to lay down a nice even pitch of fertilizer. So, its back to the stores and this time I'm going to be looking for a new fertilizer as well as a new spreader. Makes you think that maybe they might not know how to make a good fertilizer it they can't even make a quality spreader.

Great Broadcast Spreader

This spreader is inexpensive, sturdy, and the edgeguard is great for applications near driveways, sidewalks, and edged beds. The hopper holds a lot, cutting down in refils. Even full, it is easy to push. The handle is long enough for me (I'm 5'6").
For those that complain about clumping-you should never use it on a wet lawn. If you are spreading in the morning, wait until the dew evaporates first.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wheels seem to be an issue for the DLX product.

purchased the DLX spreader last fall to overseed, worked well at that time. This spring went to spread some granular product and the wheel sheared off - I am seeing other reviews of the same thing. I have reached out to Scotts - asking where to purchase replacement parts - Thus far my searches on the web only produce Scotts parts for let's say bigger products.

Current turf builder mini, didn’t last two years

Scott’s had a great spreader in the Speedy Green series. The current lineup of spreaders are of poor quality. Bring back the quality products that I had trust in your products.

very unsteady and difficult to use on florida lawn

Bought just under 2 years ago. used about 8 times per year. edge guard stopped working after 6 uses. Wheel just broke off. It's a piece of crap.
