Terrible, and how are they still selling it

I've had the same issue as over 200 other people have been stating on this page for 2 years. Fertilizer hits the wheels. Poor calibration and uneven spread. Buy another product. If Scott's hasn't made changes get in 2 years the cost benefit analysis of re engineering there product to one that works is not in your favor.

NOT CALIBRATED PROPERLY

Just got this to replace my old SpeedyGreen 2000 rotary. My lawn is just over 15,000 square feet, and I went over the lawn twice today and still had 25% leftover from a 15,000 square foot bag. It wasn't clogged or wet, all moving parts made proper contact, and there was no slippage between the drive wheel and the spinner plate. It simply did not dispense at anything close to the proper rate

There HAS to be something better...

I forget exactly when I bought this, but it has never worked well. I have no idea how to calibrate the setting so the spreader dispenses an appropriate amount of product when set to the setting on the product bag. There is no owner manual. And it leaves hot green lines in the lawn because the "spreader spray" gets caught in the open wheels and then lands in a nice neat line on one side.

broke after just a few uses

Used this 3 times and it’s now broken. Do not buy this product it is not durable at all. The center piece that come through the bottom of the hopper snapped off. I tried to post a photo but the site did not let me.

Cheap build that breaks quickly

SAVE YOUR MONEY

Stay away. It’s too expensive for such a poorly made spreader. The hollow wheels and broadcast sits below the top of the hollow wheels causing seed or anything to get caught in there and leave green spots in your yard. I honestly think you’d be better spreading it by hand. I have a photo to prove it on my lawn renovation but it won’t let me upload a picture. I would never recommend or buy another Scott spreader. STAY AWAY

Not worth the money

This Scott’s spreader replaced a cheap 15 year old hardware store spreader
This is not an upgrade. The agitator in the bottom of the hopper doesn’t spin afte just a few uses. The wheels are hollow and the large cavities are toward the inside and fill with product that spills out wherever, sidewalk,driveway, etc.
The side protector worked for 2 applications and now that is no longer functioning
I wouldn’t buy this again.
