Do not buy

This is the worst left my lawn with a lot of stripes. Does not put out a 5’ path in fact it does not put out 2’ on the right side. Only reason I bought was cause I was using Scott’s product.

bad product

Really a bad product edge guard does not fully go to the back shield position. Because of this when using it only dispenses from the left side which gives you nothing but a stripped lawn. I only bought this unit as Scott's is supposed to be the best I am returning this thing to place of purchase and have ordered a new non Scotts product. This is the first and last time I will buy a Scott's product after reading other reviews I am shocked that this is a known issue that has not been corrected and can not believe it has not been pulled from shelves.

Very disappointed in quality.

I’ve had the Scotts Deluxe Edgeguard for. Several years now. Last year the agitator just fell out, discovered it was worn out. I received a replacement from Scott’s but it fell out again. Let’s see how long this lasts. Now the Edgeguard on/off switch cable doesn’t work. The orange block can be moved by hand but not by the switch/cable. You can quickly see the problem in both issues. The workmanship, design and quality of materials leaves a lot to be desired. Certainly not made to last.

Don't buy!

fertiizer hits the wheels when operating, drops it right under the wheels,i a week, you can see exactly where you went due the greener grass underneath. This is an obvious design flaw.

UNABLE TO FIND SPREADER DIAL CONVERSIONS

I should not have to search the internet to find out what the dial settings convert to. Sorry but I do not always use Scotts products for every situation. I will NEVER purchase another Scotts product again! There are many other persons looking for the same conversion.

"This" spreader is total garbage.

I gave it 1 star because there was no "0"...
The Mrs gave me one in May for my birthday. By mid-summer the edge-guard cable failed, oh well, I removed the edge-guard and carried on. After one over-seed and two fertilizer applications (on 2000 square meters of lawn) I determined that it worked well for grass seed but not fertilizer product. Fertilizer (and anything with more mass than seed) jams/stops the plastic agitator when the drive wheel/spreader is moving (i.e. slippage between the wheel drive and agitator) and no fertilizer is broadcast. Slippage is now so bad that the device is useless and I will have to buy something else, but never a Scotts...

This isn’t applying the fertilizer evenly, it’s leaving a line / spots of excess fertilizer and burning the lawn.
