Horrible design

I bought this because last scotts spreader the bin cracked up the sides after a year. I bought this one with plastic wheels that are horrible. They have no traction, the spinning mechanism is so hard to spin UNLOADED almost impossible with product in the hopper. Like everyone else it left streaks in my yard. When i used it to sow grass seed on a new freshly tilled and graded lawn it pushed itself into the ground 2-3 inches because the wheels turn so hard it mostly just skidded through the topsoil leaving ruts in the yard. And it wouldn’t broadcast consistently using scotts seeds. The only place grass grew was in those deep ruts the wheels made and the wheels caught the seeds and dropped them into the ruts it left. All my grass looks stupid. It dumped a load of weed n feed in one spot killed a 5ft by 5ft area in my backyard and many little spots were it dumped to much and killed tje grass.

All of our broadcast spreaders under went a design change at the end of 2020 that changed rotor angle and changed the agitator back to a 2-wing agitator. Very poor product

The wheel broke off on just my 2nd use of it. I want my money back. This is after the spreader broke on my first one not long after purchase. Such a poor product seriously makes me reconsider their lawn fertilizer product now as well.

gearbox broke in first couple feet

Filled with 20lb bag of grass seed and immediately broke in first couple feet going over some tree roots. I was going at a walking pace and it jammed and the gearbox snapped. Very fragile part to be broken on normal usage.

Used once - wheel broke - SO cheaply made!

Used once - the wheel broke. My lawn isn't even bumpy! It is SO cheaply made - the wheels may as well be made out of cardboard. They should not be asking more than $15 for this cheap product. I used it once last spring and then got to look at my motley mess of a lawn the rest of the year - dark green patches and dead patches where it barfed out too much fertilizer.

Spreader is worse than horrible

This spreader is a piece of junk. If you find it at a tag sale, don’t even take it for free. I have used it for several years. It has never spread the fertilizer according to instructions. I’ve used the Scott salon app to calculate my square footage. I’m doing it right. The spreader is crap. The spreader does not work.

I bought the edge guard spreader for this spring, It’s awful the agitator has broken while spreading grass seed. It’s just cheap plastic. I need replacement parts.
