Leaves Lawn Strips

I bought the DLX in the fall of 2019 and applied Turf Builder Winterguard. I waited 30 days and applied a second application in the opposite direction. Noticed in the spring of 2020 my lawn looked like a checkerboard (see picture below). With a thin line of green grass and a wider line of green grass. The edge guard was fully open when applying but I noticed that even when fully opened the design isn't symmetric and the edge portion of the spreader slightly covers more area. Also noticed that the wheels on the inside have a shell design which the fertilizer was building up inside and just dropping down.
My neighbor also has an Edgeguard and had a similar issue (see picture below)

Lasted less than one day

I originally thought this spreader would be perfect for my needs, as I have to spread along sidewalks, driveways, fences ,etc. However after using less than 2 bags of pre emergent, the cable that operates the door on the bottom of the bin failed, and the expensive product spilled onto the ground. I poured up what was left and flipped the empty machine over, but I can't locate an adjustment that allows me to correct the problem. Not a life changing event, but pretty disappointing.

Poor design - do not buy this model

This spreader makes your lawn look like a football field only with green stripes instead of white. The fertilizer only lands directly below the spreader due to the rest hitting the wheels vs. being spread sideways.

The product are hitting on the left wheel because of an almost even height . This results in lines of greener grass on my lawn . Look at the picture below

Fertilizer does not drop through door
on June 20, 2021

from St Louis
I have now used this twice, and have realized that it was a waste of money. The 2 different kinds of fertilizer I used barely comes out of the door to drop onto the spreader. I had to violently bounce the unit to get anything to drop out of the door. Complete waste of money, no support online. DO NOT BUY THIS SPREADER

Worst I have ever owned

I bought this spreader 2 years ago and use it 2-3 times a year. I did not want or need the edge feature but it was all the stire had in stock. The spreader drops a row of fertilizer down the middle as it spreads so I usually have burn rows - the second year of use the spreader at the bottom broke at the spindle- piece of junk

Junk

I bought this spreader last year because my current spreader wasnt applying product evenly. This is no different. I get lines in my lawn and the edge guard always gets stuck open or shut. I rinse it out after each use and it doesnt matter. I have to reach down and manually adjust by hand.

Works Fine But Need a Part
on April 12, 2022

The spreader has worked for years but recently lost the rotating device inside the tub that is supposed to keep the fertilizer loose. Now there is also a gap between the spindle and the tub that clogs with fertilizer rendering the whole thing useless.
