Very good starting soil for flower boxes on storage build, alot of sun and plants grow well. from start to winter!

How I use it and why?

Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Soil was first recommended to me by an Ag teacher and later by a landscape gardener. I've used it in various types and sizes of containers for both fruits and vegetables with excellent results. For the last couple of years I've been growing with the Eco Growing system and after trying a couple of other brands of recommended soil the Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Soil has ended up being the only one I'll use in the Eco pots.
I add a one to two inch layer of Vermiculite to the bottom of the pot and 20% more Perlite to the soil mix as recommended by Eco. The vented self watering pots prevent overwatering and the Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Soil prevents my plants drying out too fast in the summer heat in my little greenhouse. This combination has produced bigger, tastier fruits and vegetables faster than anything else I've used. The included fertilizer Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Soil has produced steady growth and beautiful results without chemical burn.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective, cheaper in the bigger quantity

Very poor potting soil

I have been a horticulturist for 40 years and after using several bags this I feel that my plants are the worst I have every grown. They look bad and as far as moisture control I have to water every single day. The product it self looks like ground up bark from a stump grinding machine. I should have known after first bag that it was inferior. Especially for the price. Also have 3 miracle-gro feeders that do not work.
Cons: Messy, Didn't work as expected

Why is this soil so hard.

I have noticed the last several years the QUALITY of your soil is JUNK. I buy top quality soil. and I see alot of BARK, Rocks , And mulch in it. We work hard for our money and to spend it on this is frustrating. When i have opened the bags, have noticed it is always wet and has GNATS flying out in swarms. Could you add a little soil to it? Cant bring any plants inside due to bugs in it. GIVE US SOME DAM DIRT PLEASE !!!!!!

Fungus gnats, mold, killed my plants

I transplanted my thriving and healthy vegetable seedlings using Miracle-Gro moisture control potting mix. Now they are all dying, and I have a severe fungus gnat infestation on every single one of my 13 potted plants. I am devastated and I can’t believe this company is ok with selling this gnat and mold infested soil to their consumers. You don’t even understand how much love and care I put into the seedlings than went into your awful soil. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. you will regret it like I did , and now it’s too late in the season to start again. I do not know what to do.

Rots roots of plants !

I do over 40 container plantings in the spring and this is the first time using moisture control soil. DO NOT plant herbs in this soil ! They all almost died and usually thrive amazingly, same pots, same location. Some of my container flowers are dying also, believe me this is very unusual as I have been doing this for 25 years

Love love love this stuff! Can’t believe what it does to my plants & flowers! My neighbor couldn’t believe what it did to my mums - here’s a before when I bought at the store & after when I added miracle grow moisture!
