I have used Miracle Grow products for years, and have always been satisfied with the product and results. Not so with this bag of potting mix! I transplanted my beloved indoor baby at work ( I’ve had this beauty for 14 years), and about a week later noticed gnats in my office. An associate of mine commented that the gnats were coming from my plant. I purchased need oil. That did not help. I tried home remedies. No success. Three weeks after using the potting soil, every plant in our small office is infected with gnats, my “beauty” looks like a “beast”, and we’ve had to remove every plant from the building. So sad and disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When planting my window planter boxes I ran out of Miracle-Gro Moisture Control potting soil so I ran to the local quick mart and picked up a cheap bag of moisture control potting soil thinking it would probably work just as well. I wont be making that mistake again. you can see for yourself the difference after only 2 weeks!

For the first time ever, I decided I would buy a plant and pot it. Being young and reckless, I figured moisture control would be something I need because I have no idea what I am doing.
WOW, this stuff really helps you control the moisture level in your plant. I WAY over-watered my plant (recall that I am young and reckless) and this stuff sucked it up like nothing and kept my fledgling plant from dying.

Save your plants from overwatering!

We live in Northern Idaho and have had one of the wettest springs on record. My outdoor container plants have been doing great, despite the continuous supply of rain water. From past experience, I believe that the Moisture Control Potting Soil Mix has helped my plants survive the constant rain. My plants are thriving and look beautiful, unlike many of my neighbors' plants. A couple of neighbors have asked what my "secret" is... and the answer was MiracleGro Moisture Control Potting Mix. Thank you Miracle Gro!

WAY TO MANY GNAT EGGS!!!!!!!!

I just bought a bag of your miracle grow potting mix to reppot my very young vegetable plants in. After buying i looked up the reviews and I read all these horrid review on your product about the gnats and your statement of that a few eggs are laid through the air holes during transfer and storage. So I decided to do a test. I took 6 samples from this bag I just opened (top bottom 4 sides and middle) and I brought out my old microscope to see what I could find and what I saw scared me. There are so many gnat eggs in here. There's actual clumps of them, i couldnt keep track when counting those in clumps. But i counted single ones i saw and I can get over 25 of them in the small view of my microscope, in a small very scattered and spread sample and that's what I counted before loosing track. All 6 samples were the same result. Meaning that the eggs are like this throughout the whole bag. There's just way to many plain eggs to have been laid there through the holes. More like they were in there since possessing. I would highly recommend your people look into this and find a way to fix it. I'm very unhappy with this. But I shall continue with the planting and I hope that this mix makes my plants 2 times as big like you say. I will use sand as you suggest but I surely hope you fix this or I'm never buying another thing from you and I'll make sure I spread that cause that many eggs in a bag is ridiculous and no one deserves to have gnats all over their house and killing their plants

Mix with Miracle Grow Potting Soil in Yellow Bag

This product holds on to ALOT water. Anyone who has a tendency to overwater should not use this product.
We live in south Florida. Before the summer rainy season we have a very hot and dry season. Miracle Grows potting soil in the yellow bag is good but it dries out so quickly in the strong Florida heat and sun. I purchased this moisture control product as a substitute but learned that this product holds on to too much water. Now, I use appx 2/3 Miracle Grow potting soil (yellow bag) with 1/3 Miracle Grow potting soil with moisture control (blue bag). This mix seems to be working well.

Bought 50 at bag organic moisture control potting mix. Mix drys out quickly and top gets dry, crusty and cracks
Cons: Didn't work as expected
