I am very disappointed in this product

I filled ten railing top planters with this mixture and planted basil seeds and nasturtium seedlings. The basil took forever to sprout and then only a few appeared. In three months time they are still tiny and most have given up the ghost. The nasturtium all grew slowly but developed curled, dried leaves and slowly died. I suspect that there is an herbicide in this potting soil. I bought eight bags, used six and then spread the remainder very thinly in our pasture to get rid of the suspected herbicide. I hope.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Plants are just dying. Every miracle grow potting soil I’ve ever bought had gnats in it & I thought it was normal because of the reoccurrence.
Cons: Didn't work as expected

Horrible source of fungus gnats

Used this soil to up-pot all my indoor container plants. What a mistake! I've been spending so much time since then to try and control fungus gnats. Purchased the bag from a local big-box store.
Sticky trap in the bag with the remaining soil has caught so many adults.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, Problem with label, Messy

Beware-horrible product

I replanted a plant I had for over 5 years. A gift from my deceased mother-in law. And I have taken care of it as I always have. I went to move it because I am watching it slowly die. I decided to take it outside as a last hole to have it survive and because it is so huge I tipped it and all this gnats came flying out. Literally infested. I am horrified. I looked at 2 other plants I have used this product on and they have an orange fungus growing. Please do not use .

Such a disappointment!

I am a die hard Miracle Gro user BUT the current product was not up to usual standards. Each pot has/had mold on top, hard surface and my plants suffered and some died! My herb barrel produced the poorest crop ever! So sad.

Dries out quickly

I bought 6- 55qt bags from one of the warehouse clubs and planted all my new planters with this. I put moistened mix into each pot and the surface would dry out in less than an hour so it was extremely difficult to surface sow seeds even though it's early spring. The shallower containers are also drying out quickly. I have similar sized pots with normal miracle gro that are fine. I have used these size pots with normal miracle gro with no problem in the past. If these containers are drying out this quickly in early spring, I'm worried about how quickly they will dry out during the summer.

Pros: Value

Everything I have grown or planted this year so far with this soil has died due to growing white mold due to the soil.
