I bought this about a month ago to repot all of my plants because the plants were over growing their pots.
These plants had sentimental value to me because they were from my mom and dad’s funeral. Within 2 days I noticed the plants wilting and it looked like something was eating the leaves. I had 9 beautiful, healthy plants and now all I have is a piece of one in water that is rooting. I don’t have any pictures because they were thrown away. I might possibly have a few way before they were repotted.

Fantastic Product

I've been using Moisture Control for years. I have several pots outdoors in which I ONLY use Moisture Control. You don't have to worry about over watering which is the whole idea. My plants love it. I recommend it to family and friends.
Pros: Good Directions, Easy to Use, Quality, Value, Effective

Fungus Gnats, Mushrooms, and Mold

I re-potted all my plants with this soil. Each plant I re-potted now has a serious infestation of fungus gnats which I can't control. I've tried sprays, insecticides, soapy drenching, sand, potatoes to attract larvae, etc...Still terrible and filling up fly strips daily.
Also, the plants with the worst infestation has started to grow mushrooms and mold. I've never had mushrooms grow on indoor houseplants. I water sparingly, once weekly, and the soil doesn't usually seem waterlogged. I even find the insects in my pets water dishes.
I have spent far too much time trying to fix a problem that shouldn't have occurred. I wouldn't use this soil again. Unless MiracleGro can come up with a solution.

The worst

I purchased this bag of soil in May, used it for many of my annual summer pots and am completely disappointed. The soil doesn’t retain the moisture as advertised for plants that are in direct sun, it appears to work for the shaded containers but would not recommend this product at all

My Experience w' Miracle-Gro Moisture Control

I have used Miracle-Gro products for many years and usually I buy the potting mix in the yellow bag. This year I bought 2 large bags and 2 small bags of this Miracle-Gro Moisture Control potting mix (blue bag). Something in this mix is harming/killing my plants. I have had 2 die already (in just over a month) and I have several with small mushrooms growing up from the potting mix and my plants in general just don't look healthy. I am extremely disappointed and upset because I have now wasted money and time on my plants this year. After reading many of the previous reviews I now know that my experience is not isolated and that this product has apparently had issues for quite some time. Very, very disappointed.

Repotting half my plants in different soil!

I bought this based on a recommendation and thought the moisture control aspect would be great. Plants started dying. I figured it was me. Just dug one out and found clumps of mushrooms in the soil! Indoors? Now, our favorite tree is dying. I happened to look on here at reviews and am almost certain it is this soil. Same complaints as others. I am buying a totally different potting soil today and repotting about 8 plants. Money wasted on soil and plants! I’ve lost 2 favorites now.

My mom's plant is dying.

I used Moisture Control Potting Mix to repot the Peace Lily I received for my mother's funeral. It had grown so big that I had to repot it. I regret the day. My poor plant is dying and I am devastated. I pray I can save it by changing the soil. It has white mold growing on the top of the spoil. I have no idea what to do to save it but this is all things BAD!!!!

I would reccomend this product to anyone! I planted a mum in this potting mix and it has been doing good! I like the fact that it has moisture control!
