[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using this product for 4 or 5 years now. I get flowers from a local nursery and this really helps to keep them growing and blooming all season. I had tried other bargain product from the local big box store and none performed as well.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

This plant was purchased in November 2013, it was in a 20 inch pot and was 16 inches tall. Now as you can see in the picture it is 40 inches tall in a 60 inch round pot. I have re-potted this plant twice both times using Miracle Gro Moisture Potting Mix & Miracle Gro Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food. This and all my plants are healthy, some are in-ground and others are in containers. The product is Great and they produce awesome results.
I was not able to download my photo, I wish you could see how beautiful.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in NJ and we often get very long droughts or very wet periods which can both be very detrimental to container gardening. Since I discovered Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix, my flowers are incredible and I have lost none of them to either drought or excessive rain. I highly recommend this product to everyone. Even if you miss a day, this potting mix retains more moisture and you will notice less wilting or plant loss.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jalapeno peppers that we planted in miracle grow moisture control potting soil are about 4 times as big as the other peppers that we planted at the same time. Miracle grow seems to be the only difference.
Pros: Effective
Cons: Messy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Potting Mix is great for new plants. I planted some Alyssum in an old chicken feeder. We drilled holes in the bottom of the feeder, laid down some stones and put in the potting mix and flowers. My husband was a little skeptical at this idea, but the flowers are beautiful and I don't need to water them every day either.
Pros: Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a cement slab patio with full sun. Temperatures in the Chicago summer reach 10 to 20 degrees higher on the slab, than the 90 degree ambient temperature. With potting mix without the moisture control, our plants usually died sometime over the summer. With the Miracle-Gro Moisture Control....our Basil plants now look great all Summer.

I've used Miracle-Gro potting mix for many years and noticed the past couple years that the product was changing. The last bag I bought a couple weeks ago was heavy, black, wet with little to no perlite and few fertilizer pellets in it. I've had the bag open for weeks and it is still wet. It is to heavy to use in potted plant containers. It is not light and fluffy like they use to bag. I wouldn't recommend it for indoor plants as it makes them want to die, maybe from the mix being to heavy and not allowing oxygen to the roots. Peat should be brown not black like what is in the packages now. It is sour smelling when you first open the package like something rotting. Even if it is composted peat, it shouldn't smell like it does in the package if it is being tended to properly. After reading other post, it could explain my sudden invasion of fungus gnats. If you buy this, definitely put it in the oven and kill the gnats first before using or storing.
Cons: Bad Odor, Didn't work as expected, not like previously packaged
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear that you have been disappointed in the Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix. We appreciate your taking the time to share your experience and your comments will be forwarded to our quality control and marketing teams for review. We do not recommend putting the soil in the oven. Heating the soil in the oven will reduce the benefits of the soil by killing off the beneficial microbes and bacteria that plants thrive on. If you need to dry it out, place it on some newspaper and lay it in the sun. To control fungus gnats use a 1/2 inch of sand around the top of each pot. The gnats can not crawl through the sand, which stops the breeding cycle. Adult gnats can be caught using a saucer of water and a couple of drops of dish soap.
