This item is better ham I anticipated!

I bought this in May when I ran out of my other potting soil. I went to our local hardware store and this was the only kind they carried. So I bought a couple bags. I wasn't pleased because of the cost difference, but now I am extremely happy I did! The difference in the flowers with this potting soil and the other is crazy. I wanted to post pics bc it is such a huge difference! I highly recommend this. I never write reviews. But I had to with this product.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality

Fungus on top, gnats are bad

I have bought multiple bags of the moisture control potting mix and the citrus potting mix and am having trouble with both. Green fungus on top of soil and gnats in the dirt. I have been using miracle grow for years and the last couple of years there have been multiple issues. Dirt turning rock hard, green or white fungus or mold on top of soil and the gnats, at least 2 different types of gnats. I'm not sure what is going on with the potting mixes but I pay good money for this stuff and as I said earlier I've used it for years. At first I thought it was just a bad bag but after purchasing multiple bags and to have these problems with over half of the bags I'm getting frustrated. I've purchased at least 15 bags this year including the citrus mix (at least 4 bags) and 1 bag of orchid mix which right after I planted my orchids in the mix 1 got mealy bugs on it.
My husband bought me a Meyer lemon tree and since I planted it in the citrus potting mix I've been fighting gnats that stay in the soil. I'm afraid that I'm going to loose my lemon and the lime tree that I've had for a year because of the gnats. The leaves are falling off of them now and it's my understanding that the gnat larvae will eat the roots and kill the tree. I've tried multiple different things to get rid of these gnats, including insecticidal soap, neem oil, a peroxide and water mix, to no avail. I'm going to repot these trees in different soil and see if I can save them, hopefully.
Needless to say but I am truly disappointed with the different miracle grow potting mixes that I've wasted my money on this year.

MY BABIES ARE DYING

I bought this product a few months ago and now my plants are dying. I needed to re pot a few of my house plants and decided to go with the moisture control mix. I have used Miracle Gro products in the past and was excited to try this one out. I have noticed my flowers aren't growing and now there is a white mold type substance growing on several of my plants. I pray I can re pot them in another soil without them dying completely but this is horrible. I was really proud of my babies but now I'm feeling like such a failure. This product will kill a persons dream of being a successful plant grower.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

POOR QUALITY CONTROL

I bought 4 2 cubic foot bags of Miracle Gro potting mix, moisture control this year and my plants aren't doing well at all! They are growing very slowly and there is a fungus on the top of the soil. I am an avid gardener and know a lot about plants and soil. I have never had this problem before with this soil. We only have 4 months of growing season and this ruined my flowers for this year. My plants have plenty of sun and the soil gets a crust on the top and I have to constantly loosen it for aereation!! There is more bark mulch than normal for this product!!

Miracle Gro moisture control

I purchased the miracle Gro moisture control because they were out of the one that I normally purchase. This stuff is a nightmare I replant my plants every year using the other miracle gro (yellow bag) and this year my plants started dying off within a couple days. I’ve had these plants for a years and clip them back in the fall. I’m so disappointed especially in the money that I’ve spent on these plants and on this garbage soil!!! It’s like in most of the plants it’s sucking out all the moisture from the plant or seems like they’re overwatered.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing quality of mix

I've been using Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix for several seasons and was always satisfied with the product and the results with my plants. This year I purchased several 55 qt bags for my spring planting and I was surprised and disappointed to find the mix contained a large proportion of what appears to be wood mulch. I actually had to sift it out of the mix to make it usable. This is definitely not the quality Miracle-Gro mix I've used in the past. I will return the unopened bags.
Cons: poor quality

Moisture Control Potting Mix

My patio looked like a mini version of our big Philadelphia flower show! I know that it was the result of my spring repotting tasks but also because I used the Moisture Control mix. I knew in the spring that there would be long stretches when i would be away from home and was concerned about my potted house plants and even patio tomatoes would dry out. I opted for the moisture control and couldn't be more pleased with the results! I am actually giving away some plants now that I have to move them all back in the house because the size of my showy plants are pushing me out of the sun room!!
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective, peace of mind!
I would recommend this to a friend!

They’re playing tricks, large gag was 2 cubic foot, now it’s 50 quarts, that’s 1.66 cubic feet. They’re assuming people are stupid, maybe start a class action lawsuit
