One Awesome Product

This is one product that is worth the money especially if you live in drought susceptible places. I didn't use it this year thinking we wouldn't be going through the drought like last year.... boy was I wrong! I see such a difference from last year. I decided just to fertilize more regularly instead..my grass is thicker but not greener. It is the best product I know of that retains moisture and keeps your lawn healthy. I will be using this yearly from now on. I never had a problem with staining. But as with all iron containing fertilizers, they do say take precautions. I will admit it is "clumpy" that's why the overall rating of 4. To alleviate that problem, I mix it with Diatomaceous earth. It's good for a natural bug control and makes the Green Max flow smoothly through the spreader without clumps.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
Cons: can be clumpy as draws on moisture

Use in spring to get maximum greening from the iron. Use on zoysia and get good greening.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Effective
Cons: lumps from vendor storage

Does not work as expected

I wanted to put some fertilizer down to "green" up my lawn as this is the first summer that it has look not just good but great compared to the previous summers! It didn't really green anything up as now I have dead patches of grass. It did a great job of staining stones, pavers and part of my patio and yes I did read the directions and swept the patio and pavers however its kind of hard to sweep small granular Max green fertilizer out from small white stones. I have used other Scott's lawn products in the past and followed all directions to avoid staining without issue however I will never use this again!
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions
Cons: Didn't work as expected, dead grass, stained concrete
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The iron in Green Max Lawn Food will stain concrete, pavers and other hard surfaces as indicated on the back of the label. The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains from the product on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them.

This product makes my lawn the greenest lawn in the neighborhood and the talk of the town. This product is a natural staple for my lawn year round I use it as scheduled by My Scotts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Weather has not been great but was able to get out and spreader this material.Came out very fine with much coverage of the area I was working on.Like size of bag for smaller job areas.Material did go further then I thought it would.

Waiting on the GREEN.

We have had a late spring (they are predicting snow for this afternoon), and I need to jump start the process. I use the product anytime I want/need a kick in the pants for the lawn. It always delivers.

Hopeful for good results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just planted this product today so I will not no results for a few more weeks. I have used Scott lawn in the past but not the "Max"lawn food product. The price point will be a key factor if I buy this particular brand in the future.
