Although the instructions say the grass can be wet or dry, there is nothing mentioned about the horrible rust staining that this product causes to wet surfaces other than grass. I spread Green Max during a light rain. I tried to sweep off the driveway and such but the damage was done. I have horrible rust stains on my driveway, sidewalk, landscape rocks, house siding, and pool deck. I have spent several hours and dollars trying different methods to remove the stains. The stains have not faded at all. Not the smallest bit. Even if my lawn were to turn into the greenest green, nobody would notice it due to the ugly rust stains covering everything. The rust stains even cover the street and gutters from where the rain washed it away. It's a good, permanent reminder of where the runoff goes.
Cons: Messy, Problem with label, horrible rust stains

We are sorry to hear about the staining to your concrete or pavers that occurred while using Scotts Green Max Lawn Fertilizer. The iron in Scotts Green Max Lawn Fertilizer may stain. The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains from the product on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them. Before using any commercial cleaning products to remove stains, test the product on a small area to see if the product will fade or damage the stained surface.

Terrific product!

I applied Max for the first time about a month and a half ago. My lawn has never looked so good. Aside from good growth and thicker grass it is greener than ever. My neighbors are asking me what happened to my lawn (because it looks so good). I live in Chicago area & have a mix of blue, rye & fescue grass. Am so happy I found this product! Keep making it Scotts!!!

Great for summer feeding and green up

I like to use this product in early summer to help with the stress of the summer heat with out add a lot of growth. It greens up my lawn quickly and last for several weeks

Great product

Works as it said. Grass turned out really green, easy to use. When i applied Scotts Green Max it has rained the next day to it ramped up the greening process.

Waste of time & money

I have used other manufactures product in past that does work. Scotts Product does not work as stated. Do not waste your money or time. I would like to figure out how I could get a refund.
Cons: Didn't work as expected

Not worth the heartache of rusting out your driveway

Applied this in the morning. Thought I had swept pretty good, but came back to the house after a rainstorm and all heck had broken loose on my driveway. I am still trying to get the stains out.
I will never use this product again for fear of missing 1 single pellet that will stain my driveway/walkway. It is not worth it and didn't really appear to enhance my lawn at all. This is 2015, there has to be something that doesn't ruin my 2 month old driveway out there. I agree with other commemtors, the warning for this product needs to be front & center.
Cons: Messy, Didn't work as expected, permanent stains on your driveway

The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be.
