Particles are very fine and spreads easily. Greens up quickly.

I use a broadcast spreader and one bag is enough to cover my front and back lawn.. I used Turf Builder early in the spring and then applications of Green Max in June and August. In October I will use the Scott's fall and winter fertilizer. Always
blow the granules off any surfaces like cement walkways. If left on cement it will leave stains from the iron.

Applied the product as directed. There's always going to be overspreading so I used a blower to put the excess back on the lawn, not sitting on the concrete. After a few days the grass was getting nice and green. No staining of the concrete, just a green lawn. Works great!
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value
Cons: will stain concrete

Used the product as it said on the package. Used common sense. I used a blower to blow off granules that could not be easily reached with a broom. The biggest thing with any product and all these negative reviews. READ THE LABEL. USE COMMON SENSE. Makes life a whole lot easier. My lawn was way greener than it has ever been. The people that were complaining about brown patches those were probably weeds. I noticed most of the clover had died and some imature crab grass. Great product will recommend. As you can see in the picture below. My lawn used to look like my neighbors

We're sorry that you have experienced problems with your lawn following an application of this product. Damage can occur if products are accidentally over applied or applied to drought and heat stressed turf. Also,be aware that issues such as lawn disease or insects feeding are often mistaken for product damage. You may want to take a sample of the damaged area to a reputable nursery to rule these out.
We are sorry for the damage that occurred after using Green Max. The iron in the product will stain concrete, pavers and other hard surfaces as indicated on the back of the label. The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains from the product on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them.

Never buy again

I was really hopeful when I purchased this product. I read the reviews and was ready for careful application. However, the product clumped in the drop spreader, unable to be lied down. We then had to use a handheld spreader by Scotts, which didn’t work much better. GreenMax ended up burning parts of my yard, and never made anything look greener. I would not buy again and I still have some fertilizer stuck in my drop spreader!
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, uable to spread, burned my yard
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love using the GreenMax every other month on my Floratam grass. It usually takes about 4 days before I start to see the new green growth of my lawn. Other months I use Bonus S and in the summer I use Turf Builder with Summer control. I suggest you give it a try.

Just recently I had some plumbing work done on my front lawn which left a vacant area during late summer. I wanted to restore my lawn to its original beauty so I purchased Scotts Green Max Lawn Food. With fall just around the corner I knew that Scotts Green Max could be used anytime during the summer or fall to help my lawn grow greener and thicker. Scotts Green Max helped to protect my lawn during summer and make it greener for the fall. Its so easy to use, just lightly water in.
