Scotts please remove from the store shelves before all concrete sidewalks around town are stains. The worse product of all times.

Never have I been so very disappointed in a product made by Scott's as I am with Scott's Green Max. We just had new concrete sidewalks installed 3 weeks ago. I apply this product just before it rained and i did not get a chance to sweep in time before the rain started. Our new concrete now has orange streaks down the entire length of the sidewalk. This is unbelievable!!! I will never never use a Scotts product again. The warning label on the back should have been much larger or maybe placed on the front it large letters. I had to purchase 2 gallons of Mercuric acid to remove the stains (a full day of work) its looks much better but not the way it looked 3 weeks ago. This product should be removed from the shelves!!!!! Scotts i'm done with you.
Pros: no pro here.
Cons: stains concrete big time!!!!!

The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains from the product on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them.

Gets You Green

I actually gave my TruGreen sales person and my landscapers the boot this year. I decided to maintain my lawn this year to see how it would go...plus I needed to save money my wedding. I became interested in this product because, like all of us, I wanted a nice deep green lawn. The price was heavier than the rest of the products but I was willing to give it a shot. It has been a week and I am not disappointed. In my opinion it works just as good for my lawn vs the TruGreen product...and obviously there was no comparison on the pricing between the two. Im saving an average of $120 per month by getting rid of landscaping services and TruGreen services. Glad I made the choice to switch. The neighbor actually told me a minute ago that he loved my lawn and will consider going the TrueGreen route...boy was he surprised when I gave him the rundown! Excellent product - sweep/blow off your patios, driveways, walkways and you will be fine.
Pros: Quality, Effective

Brand new concrete is stained because of this product

I can not believe you put this product out there without a huge warning on the front of the bag stating it will stain your concrete. Very disappointed and I will expect a representative from Scott's to contact me regarding my stained concrete.
Pros: there is none i am very upset
Cons: Didn't work as expected, stained concrete

Awesome fertilizer

Kept my lawn looking like an MLB field for years. I decided to try Vigoro last year to save a measly $5. Worst mistake in my lawn's history. I went back to Green Max this year and my lawn almost looks like a top notch baseball field again. There are still some parts that are recovering from that junk Vigoro makes but that's on me. I recommend this product to friends and customers and all are extremely happy with it. Keeping a great looking lawn in this El Paso, TX, summer heat is easy with Green Max.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
Cons: stains concrete if you dont sweep it up. no big.

Threw bag out : impossible to use

I bought this product in the past and loved the results. This time though the product would not go through my Scott's spreader. The best I can guess perhaps the humidity or water got to it? I tried last weekend to spread it and finally gave up. I poured the product into another bag and left open thinking maybe that would help. Today same result. Maybe it was water damaged? If so the packaging should prevent.
Even when I continually stuck my hand in the spreader to get it unstuck, maybe 5 feet it would stick again and nothing coming out. Decided not to lose any more hair and threw it in the garage.
Frustrated.
Cons: Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful green grass

I used Scott's Green Max for the first time last year on one half of my lawn. Wow! what a difference when comparing the section of the lawn that I did not treat! I now begin the summer by applying this product on my entire lawn. I apply it twice during the summer, within six week intervals. It does yield a rich lush green color lawn. I will continue to use this product every summer.
Pros: Value, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective, consistent

This is the stuff to use for greening

I have done my yards for over 20 yrs. This is 1 of only 3 fertilizers I can feel confident in recommending for a fast green yard. I said FAST. not permanent. You will need to use this at a minimum of 3 to 4 times a yr to keep a constant green, however;Scotts has better products for long term green. This is what I use every spring AFTER a second or third mowing and after I put a pre-emergence down in Feb. I can strongly recommend this process for the DFW area in Texas. The high nitrogen will also get your yard growing so if you don't need for it to grow a lot then again, a first spring application makes sense. The iron is nothing but cake coloring for the grass. Seriously, that's what makes this so green, it has more iron in it than Ironite. So if you want to have the greenest yard in the hood and be the first... this is the stuff that will make it happen. BTW,,,, want to impress guests coming over for a weekend or dinner.. you'll get lots of compliments if you put this down 3 to 5 days before.:)

Cons: every lawn service will want to do your yard.

Performed beautifully

Used this product for the first time on a bear patch of grass which had not thrived. This product did a beautiful job of restoration and now the grass is 3 inches thick and a deep green. Couldn't be more satisfied and happy with the product. Highly recommend.
