The GreenMax worked great. It greened my lawn up in just a few days and lasted approx. 7 weeks. I had to mow 2 times a week. I will use it again..Just be careful to sweep it off the concrete before it gets wet or it will leave an iron stain.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective
Cons: leaves iron spots on concrete

Was a little leery after reading some of the reviews. Applied the fertilizer on a dry day. Used the leaf blower to blow the fertilizer off the pavement back on the grass to avoid stains. No stains the next day. My lawn greened up in 3 days. My wife was amazed! Best Scotts product to date!
Pros: Effective

Lawn looks great. Can tell a difference. Make sure you sweep up all granules from cement as directed. Will definitely leave rust spots on driveway.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
Cons: will rust cement but package tells to sweep up

Humidity will cause rust stains

I bought the product even after reading all of the reviews (pro and con). I understood that I would have to be extremely careful with this product or else it could stain my product. So I was! I used my Scotts spreader with edge guard to keep any excess product off the concrete and blew it off with my blower within five minutes. Even after such a short amount of time, the humidity caused the product to begin causing rust stains on my driveway and sidewalk.
The results that are promised on the package (Deep green in 3 days) is a stretch too. It has caused a little bit of green grass to sprout up in places where the grass hadn't yet started sprouting, but it's a far cry from "Deep green in 3 days."
Pros: it does seem to help green the grass. slowly tough
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, doesn't work well in humid conditions
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Out Do Your Neighbors!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using Green Max 3 years ago. LOVE IT. Even though my neighbors feed their lawns - some with TurfBuilder - my lawn outshines them with the deep green color. I don't tell them what I use. Keeping it a "secret".
The only negative is a mild staining of sidewalk. I make sure I don't get any on the walk, but since I try to apply a day before rain, I think the rain washes some onto the walk where the lawn has a slight slope. Not a big deal.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Effective

It simply works as advertised! I applied it to my fescue lawn during the summer and it turned a lot greener after a couple of days. Big change right away! Just be careful with making sure you blow your driveway carefully to make sure nothing is left on it before watering. Just like the instructions state it will stain your driveway.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

I have read many of the one star reviews of this product on this site and I can see one common theme from them all.. User error... If you aren't smart enough to read and follow simple instructions on a bag of fertilizer, than maybe you shouldn't be allowed to purchase it. I have used Max Green several times over the last few seasons and have never stained my sidewalks or burned my yard.. If you take the time to properly remove all the granules from the concrete surfaces, eg leaf blower or a broom, you won't have stained sidewalks.. You also need to not put the product too close to those surfaces to avoid runoff from rain.. It's not that hard people.. A big thanks to Scott's for making a great product, that works every time when you use it properly..
