Grass was green, but my NEW driveway and walkway are now stained. It looks like a bucket of rust was tossed about. I'm very upset.
Cons: stains all driveways walkways.

We are sorry to hear about the staining that occurred after using Scotts Green Max Lawn Food. The iron in Green Max Lawn Food may stain as indicated on the back of the label. The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains from the product on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them. While not endorsed or guaranteed by Scotts, the following products have shown to be effective at removing iron stains from regular concrete and are registered for this use:

-Singerman Laboratories Concrete Rust Remover (only available on-line at The Rust Store)
-Goof Off Rust Stain Remover Outdoors
-Super Iron Out Outdoor

We suggest you refer to the product label before applying any product to an iron-stained surface. Before using any commercial cleaning products to remove stains, test a small area to make sure the cleaner itself does not cause damage. Most stain removal products work best with two applications.

We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. You may visit our contact page by clicking on the following link http://tinyurl.com/7ag7a3n

Wrought Iron Fence Beware

I’ve been using this product for a year and have been impressed by the results. My grass is far greener than any house in my neighborhood. It really stands out.
Sadly, there’s a significant drawback to this product and that is the damage it causes to sidewalks and fencing. After reading other reviews with states the affect this product has in sidewalks, I made sure I swept any excess debri from concrete areas (I.e. sidewalk and driveway) due to browning and rusting of the areas it comes in contact with when water is present.
However, what I unfortunately discovered on my own is that this product will cause your wrought iron fence or other products of this material to rust, crack, and deteriorate. So, unfortunately for me, my house has these fences around the perimeter. While my neighbors fences are holding up strongly, I wondered why my fences were starting to fall apart. And it’s because of this product.
So, beware of its DAMAGE TO WROUGHT IRON FENCING. As a result, I’m now faced with an extremely expensive repair. Otherwise, use this on your lawn.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Value
Cons: Messy, property damage, fence damage, rusting
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Incredible Green! But.......

I love the green. I really do love the way it makes my yard look but I am very disappointed in it because of the way it clumps. It took me over 30 minutes to spread 2 small bags because it clumped so bad. I thought my local home supply store just got a bad batch but even a large discount store in my area had bags that from the outside seemed to be wet inside. I assume it is a humidity problem in my area. I have used this product before with great success. Please figure out how to make this spread easier and I will buy a lot of it. As of now I have to stick to Ironite even though it is way more expensive to use a combo of Ironite and Turf Builder.
Pros: Effective
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast Green Up

I applied Green Max 2 days ago. I followed the instructions on the bag and after I fertilized, I blew off my sidewalk and driveway. I watered the grass that night. Two days later, I can already see a difference in the color of my St. Augustine grass and I had NO staining problems on my sidewalk and driveway as some have stated in their reviews.
This is a great product having just nitrogen and iron for quick green up. You have a real winner in Green Max.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

product stained concrete and pool deck

Extremely poor product. I have never used a product that stained my concrete and pavers. Buyer beware. This product caused a lot of damage all over my property, from pool deck to driveway to walkways. Rust in little individual drops to big areas where the spreader stopped for a second.
If anything, a huge warning label should be on the package.
Cons: creates iron stains when used
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
