Green MAX is best for Alkaline Soils

Tucson, Arizona is famous for alkaline soils that inhibit iron absorption resulting in yellowy, chlorotic looking grass & plants. I've tried enormous amounts of supplemental iron and nitrogen products, but my lawn continued to decline. The 1st application of Green Max resulted in immediate improvement. Subsequent applications produced results beyond expectations. Great formulation that promotes iron absorption!!
Pros: Value, Effective

Beyond Green

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best fertilizer we ever used. Due to the iron in the mix, the lawn is a dark green. I also use it on my Pachysandra beds, and the yellowish Pachysandra turns green and stays green until winter. We grow over 150 large leaved Hosta's, this turns them green and the leaves are huge.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality
Cons: high price
I would recommend this to a friend!

Greener grass with less watering.

Although I water my lawn regularly, my Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass started to show signs of stress (browning) during July and August. Within 7 days of applying Scotts GreenMax Lawn Food, nearly all signs of stress disappeared, and my lawn was restored to its normal, dark green appearance. Since applying this product, I have been able to maintain a lush green lawn, with less watering.
Some reviewers have complained about rust stains appearing on concrete after using this product. The product label clearly warns of this possibility, and users should heed the warning. Any product that finds its way onto concrete must be carefully swept or blown into the grass before watering; otherwise, rust streaks will appear and remain on concrete for an extended period of time.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
Cons: will stain concrete
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn't live up to the hype

It clumps in the broadcast spreader. Literally bonds together and you have to break it up to get it spread.
The lawn simply does not turn green in three days.
Don't belive the hype!
Pros: none i can think of
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear about the difficulty you have with this product and we appreciate your taking the time to share your experience. Clumping is caused by moisture, either moisture in the bag or high humidity. Clumping will cause the product to not spread evenly which may be why you haven't gotten the results you expected. Horrible experience - beware of product staining

I have always used the Scott's Turf builder with great satisfaction. Love the product
Used Green Max Lawn food for the first time and the pellets stained my new paver driveway and all my stone borders. Terribly upset and disappointed in this product given this outcome. Once the water hits the fertilizer pellets they immediately stain everything brown. Tried a mixture of muriatic acid and water without any success.
Everyone beware...
Cons: damaged stone driveway, stained rock lawn borders
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

DO NOT BUY - Leaves RUST Stains - Worst Product Ever
on March 28, 2014

I should have read earlier reviews. Any granules left unswept on the driveway or walks will leave horrible RUST stains. The only thing that will take them out is a special concrete-rust removal powder that can only be found on the internet. By the time I'm done, I'll have wasted over $50 (if I don't run out) and a weekend scrubbing all of the rust away. Yes, it did make the grass a nice shade of green, but the time and effort to remove the stains negates all of that. This was one of my worst purchases ever.
Pros: absolutely none
Cons: Messy, Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, rust stains
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear about the condition of your driveway and walks. The iron in Green Max Lawn Food may stain as indicated on the back of the label. The more quickly the stain removal process is begun the better the chance of removing the stain. Make sure to use a product that is specific to rust, is safe for your specific driveway surface and to test a small spot before treating the entire area.
We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. You may visit our contact page by clicking on the following link http://tinyurl.com/7ag7a3n

My Green grass thanks to Green Max

I purchased this house last fall with a yard that looked more like a hay field than anything else. We started applying Scott's turf builder last fall. This Spring we applied Turf builder again, as well as 6 weeks later. Then for summer, I was reading that the Max Green is what should be applied. It has been relatively dry here the last few weeks in NW Michigan. My neighbors lawns are all brown. We applied the MAx Green to our front yard only...we wanted to see if we could tell a difference. Needless to say, our back yard looks just like our neighbors...brown! However, our front yard is a nice green color and seems to be growing just fine. We do not water, we let mother nature do it job. Even with the dry conditions, our lawn has remained green. Although it is a little pricey, it does work!
