Scotts Green Max is Amazing

This product is amazing. I had major dry yellow patches developing on my nice lawn because my irrigation system was not hitting the grass efficiently. I purchased Scotts Green Max spread it out over the entire grass area and within a weeks time it started turning green again. Now 3 weeks later my grass is back to normal and greener than ever. This stuff is amazing. Im definitely going to keep using it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Quality

This year is the first time i used this product and i am very happy with it. I did lime my lawn first then applied green max. Not only did the lawn green up but i also have less brown spots for the first time,silver dollar and so on. It did take about one week or more to see the difference.. I water it every day and looks great. So many negative
comments about green max and my lawn has not looked this good in years,i will use this again and again

Green Max not greening.

I switch from Lesco over to Scotts on recommendation from Home Depot person.he said that most of his customers prefer the Scotts brand because the results were much better. My concern was that it cost a little more than the brand I was using. He assured me that it would be worth it in the end. Well I bought a Scotts spreader and the Green Max and applied according to directions. To my surprise it did not get greener, even my neighbor commented on it, so I was not to happy then, I even waited two weeks with watering and still no deep green. I'm not giving up yet though I just purchased 2 bags of the winter formula at Home Depot because you get 20 percent of when you buy 2 or more bags. Wish I didn't have to waste my money on that Green Max, I should've ask for a refund but I lost the receipt, lol. So I'll stick with the program you guys have outlined for me on the Scotts iPhone app and see what results will come.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions
Cons: Didn't work as expected, maybe i got a bad batch?

Beware of Orange Concrete Stains

I purchased two other types of Scott's fertilizer within a week of this purchase and hadn't had any problems. In fact the lawn had become greener within 3 to 4 days. As a result I was definitely looking forward to an even greener lawn with the Green Max Lawn food. It didn't disappoint. I got great results from the Green Max after a couple of days. However, after four days that included one day of rain on the third day, I was shocked to see bad orange stains on the concrete. I immediately searched on the Internet for orange stains resulting from Green Max. It appeared to be quite a common issue among Green Max customers. Thankfully after some searching, I was able to find a product that could remove the stains. I tested a small portion of unsightly concrete and was happy to see that it reduced the harsh orange of the stain. Unfortunately the product is not cheap and it takes a good deal of time and work to remove the stain. I estimate that it will take me around 6 to 7 hours this weekend to remove the majority of the orange stain from the concrete. I am not happy about this but what makes me more upset is that there seems to be no warning on the Green Max product page and no clear indication on the Green Max bag of potential stain problems. I'm sure this potential problem is common knowledge among those that have experience with fertilizer, but this was an unwelcome surprise to someone that doesn't. I would avoid this product.

Scotts makes every effort to test products thoroughly and include correct application information and precautions on every label. The iron in Green Max Lawn Food may stain as indicated on the back of the label. The quicker a stain removal process is begun, the more effective the process will be. Sunlight and water will help to fade the iron stains from the product on outdoor surfaces, but will not completely remove them

Max vs. Ironite

I have been a Scotts/Miracle grow user for many years. I always use Scotts/Miracle grow seed and fertilizer because you get what you pay for. The other leading brands do not produce the lush deep rooted lawns that Scotts consistantly does. I'm on my second bag of the Max product and it already has passed the Ironite level of green that I did have. All my neighbors asked me within two weeks of using the product, how did my green lawn get even greener, I told them the right amount of water and Scotts Max. Although this year has been considered a drought by the experts, even in Michigan, the Great Lake state, the Max has allowed me to have a very green and healthy yard. Thanks Scotts/Miracle grow for the years of high quality products and especially for the Max. I'm done with Ironite for greening purposes. As with all iron based products, use a blower to get the excess off cement and back in your yard.

Watch out for the rust on sidewalks

This products works nice on the grass, but as the bag says it will also turn your walkways rusty if you don't clean up. Well, I cleaned up! It rained... and I have spent over $100 on products to remove the rust stains from my walkways... and I still don't have all the stains up.. The biggest problem is finding something that actually removes the stains, and so far, Outdoor super Iron out which is only sold on the internet is the only thing that I have found that works to remove the rust, problem is it still requires a lot of scrubbing and two or three applications... In my opinion, use of this product to make my grass greener just wasn't worth the extra work and cost to clean up my walks...

Cons: Messy, rust stains on walks, cost time and money to clean up rust stains

Max Green helps choke out weeds

This is my first time using product. I saw a difference after 1 week. Has been 6 weeks since I used on my lawn. The grass is stronger and more healthy looking with less weeds. I'm going to apply again. Great Scott's product.
