Doesn’t cook anything faster than your oven. Doesn’t even toast well.

Oven @ 350 melted handle off door

Toaster worked fine with first use. Oven works a bit too well I suppose. Heated the oven up at 350 to bake 6 cookies. Walked out of the kitchen and 5 minutes later I hear a crash. The handle mounts (plastic) literally melted off. Seems dangerous and borderline unsafe. Wish the outsides were made as well as the rest of the unit as this seemed like the perfect replacement for my old Black and Decker 6 slice toaster oven, but after multiple years of use on the B&D - broil, oven, toast, etc, it never had this type of issue. Seems like a blatant design flaw that if there were any testing at all in a quality review environment, this would have never gone to market as is. I'm not anyone to be excitable or cause bad name but this is pretty poor quality and should be recalled to fix before selling any more. I'd pay $10 more for a better handle that didn't melt or burn me. Seems like the handle mounts should be metal and the handle should be some heat resistant poly/plastic/etc. Sadly disappointed.

Looks nice and shiny but didn't last very long

This product clearly only built for looks not durability. Timer dial began sticking maybe 6 months after purchase, After failing to turn off while unattended a few times I simply gave up using this feature for obvious safety reasons. Now going on 12 months of standard daily use (making toast, warming up food etc) I have noticed a significant drop off in temperature. Making toast is basically impossible now and heating food up takes 20-30 min which is far too long. This is now going to the recycling depot. Would never buy another Oster product again.

Door handle melted and fell off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this toaster oven until the plastic that connects the door handle to the toaster oven melted and the door handle fell off. I consider this a defect.

Not the greatest in quality control

I have to say I am slightly disappointed by this purchase. Although the unit seems to function properly, the quality assurance of the unit is not that great. The first TSSTTVDFL2 unit I picked up was missing one of the feet on the bottom. I returned it to the store from which is was purchased and exchanged it for another of the same model. Although the replacement unit seems to have all of its parts, to my disappointment, this unit has some foreign matter on the dial markings that I have been unable to remove, the bottom crumb tray was bent and the broiler pan does not slide smoothly inside the guides of the metal rack. The top of the unit gets terribly hot. Although I do expect it to get warm, I would not expect it to have the ability to melt the skin from your finger tips. I can only hope that more care is given in the building and packaging of their more expensive units. Other than that, the unit does look nice and the size is perfect for a small kitchen.

Looks Good..Good toaster....HORRIBLE THERMOSTAT!!!

Just bought this yesterday, unpacked it, looks nice, everything there. FIRST thing I needed to know is , how close is your thermostat compared to 2 good oven thermometers I know are accurate. WOW!! The thermostat is WAY OFF....need to set it at 275 to achieve an actual 350, about 260 to achieve 325!!! Toaster function works well but you need to monitor toasting process. I see in the other reviews, LADYLU had the same problem! No sense taking it back, probably get the same situation. My question is, is the temperature knob on a splined shaft or is there also a "flat" on the shaft? If no flat, I could re-index the knob. Being it is plastic, I'm open to trying to get it off but if it breaks, I would expect customer service to replace my knob free of charge! Great oven EVERYTHING considered but the temp problem really is disappointing!! How about it OSTER, help me out here?? PLEASE email me!

Very Good for the Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this around Christmas and very pleased with the exception that you have to set it around 75 degrees lower than recipe. I hang an oven thermometer in it to make sure. It does heat up quickly, which is something my old one didn't do. It is attractive and large enough for my needs--just right. I do wish that it had 2 racks rather than just the one.

Dangerous! Do Not Buy this Toaster Oven!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Toaster Oven is seriously dangerous!
It has about 90% external areas that heat to the point of immediate, serious burns!
I have owned many toaster ovens in my life, but never one that has so many unprotected surfaces. The handle is cool, due to the plastic arms that attach it to the oven. Other than that, everything else is as hot outside as inside.
This is a problem when you open the door and your fingers/knuckles touch the frame of the door behind the handle or if you touch the glass with the back of your hand when pulling the door open/down. Both things that are very hard to avoid when opening the oven. Other than the 3 knobs that control the oven, EVERYTHING else is White Hot!!!
As I said, I have owned toaster ovens my entire life, and never had one that was this poorly designed!!!
