[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, please note that I could not start this review unless I clicked the five star rating on the email from Lenovo. The other stars were inactive. Then on this review screen I was able to switch to four starts.
Second, I work as a software consultant who travels frequently to client sites. I frequently work on airplanes where I need a touchpad.
Overall, this laptop is an improvement over my other three comparably priced laptops. The design of the function keys is better, and the touchscreen can be helpful, but I must be careful about unintentional touching. The touchpad has a slightly larger "sweetspot" than my Dell and an obviously larger than my Asus and my HP. I set the power to optimize performance rather than save energy because I want the coolest operation. Even so, I was surprised by how quiet the fan runs.
What also surprised me was the inability to set the backlit keys to stay lit. After a period of inactivity, I must reset the backlit feature. This is aggravating when I work in the dark. I checked a Lenovo forum and found that I cannot fix it.
Also, I cannot find a way to use a blank screen saver. I set the blank screen as I have for my other laptops but I still get a blue screen after my inactivity period.
While my touchpad has a slightly larger sweetspot compared to my other laptops, it is still small. Most of the touchpad cannot be used for tapping.
