[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using my new 14" X1 Carbon (Gen 9) for over a week and am thoroughly impressed with it. I am dual booting Debian and Windows and all the hardware works great on both systems. No major issues so far. I opted for the matte full HD touchscreen (because I often work under fluorescent lighting) and plan to get a higher resolution glossy monitor for home. So far I am happy with this decision. I watched a few 4K videos on Youtube to evaluate the display and the picture is fantastic! The sound and the battery life are great (i5 processor). At times, the fan is louder than I would have hoped, but it's still not too loud. The webcam quality is okay, and the color seems colder than it should be, but it may be possible to adjust this at the software level so this is not a big drawback. Ultimately, as someone who used a T430 for many years, I am very happy with my purchase.

I LOVE the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 9. Super display - so clear compared to my old Thinkpad 470. Absolutely love the display, the size of the pc, the thinness, the keyboard everything. However, it comes with Windows 11 and I'm starting to see problems with Windows 11. The taskbar is at the bottom, and I always used the taskbar vertical on the right hand side. But other than that, so far everything is good.
