[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this laptop in mid-February, and I was blown away. Then, the screen would intermittently go on and off. Lenovo customer service was great, and I sent the computer in, and Lenovo fixed it pretty quickly. I was so satisfied. Now, my computer won’t turn on a couple weeks later. I watched support videos, and the laptop isn’t even charging. So I just submitted another repair ticket and am losing faith in this thing. It’s only been four months, and I have never encountered such issues with any other laptop brand I have used. And there’s been quite a few. I’m super frustrated and wish I could return this thing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great laptop, very light and responsive. Battery life is longer than I expected; I can work a full day without running out.
Feels sturdy, i could use this machine for many years.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s pretty good, it can handle games pretty good, very light weight. Good for coding projects and on the move programming the only down side is the heat, it has a tendency to become very hot on part of the computer which limits long term cpu intensive programs but can handle shorter cpu intensive programs. Apart from that tho it has been working really good and would give a 5/5 if it wasn’t for that small thing that most of the time doesn’t matter, for me at least.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our bio-tech star-up uses Lenovo laptops for every new employee. Our IT team loves them and so does everyone else. We highly recommend setting up a Lenovo Pro account, they are responsive and friendly and make getting back to the office less daunting. Thanks Lenovo!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] X1 Carbon is the Thinkpad flagship for a reason. I've bought the Gen 6, Gen 7, and now the Gen 9 and while key travel has decreased significantly from Gen 6, it's still one of the best keyboards out there. Speakers sound amazing now, and they still manage to pack better hardware and cooling into the same sized package. Durability is out of this world.
I'll never use another laptop as long as it consistently beats competitor brands in:
- Weight: this thing is LIGHT. Lighter than the dell XPS line (of course) and Macs, but maintains the same if not better specs and build quality.
- Build quality: Spilled hot coffee (with cream) on my Gen 6 (it was practically submerged), dropped it off my desk, took it on trips, and it still works perfectly as my daily work computer.
- Specs and maintainability: flagship specs and customizability when purchasing makes it easy to build this out to compete with the top of the line laptops on the market. All while, bottom cover comes off easily with self-retained screws.
- Ports: Full size HDMI. 2 true Thunderbolt ports. 2 USB A. and still a headphone jack. Only missing a SD card slot but this is the X1C not the X1. No dongle life here.
- Privacy and business: webcam cover and finger print sensor built in. Privacy Guard if you want it.
This is the perfect balance of design and business/consumer needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The larger screen is a welcome change, but this is otherwise the identical laptop from years past. Very high quality screen and the perfect keyboard, of course. Only one criticism: The webcam is incredibly poor. Dissapointing, especially with so many workers using Zoom.
