Excellent Laptop

I bought this laptop two weeks ago, mainly use it for work. I installed Fedora on it, and the system runs almost flawlessly! The only issue for me is that the CPU makes coil whine which is noisy in a quiet environment. It is caused by the CPU power saving management which reduces the CPU frequency in idle time. I solved this problem by entering BIOS -> Config -> Power -> CPU Power Management and turned it off. Then in the same page I changed the Sleep State to Linux S3 to prevent CPU being active in sleep mode. Now everything is working fine!

The speed is incredible without hardly any fan noise at all or heat when pushing it really hard. I can be streaming music while also working several large spreadsheets and word documents with no noticeable lag in anything! I have teamed it with the Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 dock to include extra drives/printers and external keyboard/mouse interface. The dock allows me to do all the office work, then unplug just one cable and take the power of the X1 mobile with me. I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although a sharp computer, I have had a disappointing experience. After having vested a lot of time customizing my new laptop, it prompted me to update the BIOS within the first week of receiving. It proceeded "successfully," but completely locked up. I had to send it back, which took several days. When I got it back, they had simply restored it to the factory setting eliminating all my customization!
Otherwise, it is a fast machine. I am disappointed that there is not a function key for turning off the touch pad - especially since that is part of the reason I bought a ThinkPad with its red joystick.
