It feels like I'm holding a tablet instead of a fully fledged laptop. It wasn't necessary to go below 3lbs, but still, it's a welcome change. The build construction, fit, and finish are simply put, wonderful. I'm a fan of the carbon fiber material Lenovo has stuck with all these years. It definitely seems to set it apart from all the aluminum-based chasses we see in so many other notebooks these days. Gives it a sturdy yet classy and professional look. The battery life so far has been pretty serviceable. Haven't pushed the battery to the limits enough times, but in the handful of times I tested it at my library, it lasted 7 hours easily with at least 20% left. I got the 1920x1200 matte display and glad I did over the 4k glossy display as I can't stand reflections. Text looks sharp, whites do look slightly warmed over, but it's one of the better notebook displays I've come across. The touchpad works quite well out of the box. Gestures such as two-finger tap to right-click and 3-finger up-swipe for multitask mode work flawlessly. The only way to make the touchpad perfect at this point is to tweak the two-finger inertial scroll to be a bit more "glidey," but even so, it's not a must.
A couple of nitpicks I think some people may want to be aware of. The fans come on at random times. I do think Lenovo would do well to set the fans to run only when temps exceed 60c to reduce the increments at which the fans power on. Seeing how most tasks such as websurfing, video streaming, and documents wouldn't push it to 60c all that often, 60c would be the perfect threshold. One other area to keep in mind is the lack of AMD chip configurations. You can select AMD chips if you go with say a T14 or P14s, but all you get with this X1 Gen9 is Intel. Not that that's a deal killer as I'm finding the Intel chip/gpu combo runs perfectly fine for school and work tasks. Not the best for rendering videos, but great for everything else.
Overall, I would certainly recommend this one to family and friends. Of course, there's always waiting for the gen10, but we all know how the waiting game goes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shipping was prompt and the product was exactly as ordered. Experience with the computer has been positive so far. Poor reports about the keyboard and 3840 x 2400 display have thus far been unwarranted. The keyboard feels great (just switch the ctrl and fn keys) and the display is not overly reflective. Very pleased so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing machine; Lenovo stuck to its roots so the overall look and feel remains the same, which is what I wanted. The huge improvement is the screen which is a large step up. I am very happy with it.
