Getting used to it

I made some smoked pork chops that were turned out to be delicious. I did some ribs and I still have to learn how to cook them on this grill/smoker, I plan on doing some chicken and then maybe ribs again and then possibly a brisket.

Cooks, but that’s about it. Little to no smoke and arrived damaged

While I received the item in a damaged condition, I was still excited to begin using the 700D3. I followed the initial starting and burn off process and started a 16 hour pork cook. I used the smoke setting as suggested but the unit produced little to no smoke. Even when the pork was done, there was an obvious smokey flavor missing. I’ve used offset smokers, electric smokers, and other pellet grills so it’s not user error. Ended up having to engineer a way to block the smoke stack to try and restrict some of the airflow to produce smoke. Even tried the Zgrill brand of pellets to make sure it wasn’t a bad batch and still no consistency in the smoke produced. If I had a way to return it, I probably would.

This is my pellet grill. Im having a wonderful experience using it. It cooks quickly and the food comes out amazing. I would definitely recommend zgrill products. It was also very easy to assemble.

I have been using the smoker for a few weeks and everything about it is perfect, works great. I have a concern about its longevity which is based on the fact that the seams of the “barrel” seem to be siliconed together and not welded, and if they are they aren’t welded all the way around. This is only a concern for the moment because the smoker is new and doesn’t have much use but when it gets older and more use I am worried about how those seams will fare.
