Lack of smoke

May be too early but I have used this grill twice. First time very little smoke. Temp maybe to high. Second time lowere temp did better. Still getting used to it

Runs hot

Hard to cook on because temps are hotter than it says.. so everything comes out cooked too quickly or burnt if you watch their temp gauge.. it’s running at least 10-15 degrees hotter than it should

Doesn’t maintain high heat

I bought this grill to replace another pellet grill that had become unreliable. We never knew if it would start.
We use our grill primarily for grilling steaks, chicken, burgers etc. I knew the Zgrill wouldn’t reach 500F, but I assumed we could live with 450F limit.
However, once the grill is up to temp, we open it to put the meat on, and close again, the grill loses about 100F. And it keeps losing temp after it’s closed. The same thing happens when we open it to turn the meat. The result: the grill doesn’t make it back to 450F. In fact it doesn’t the rest of the cook under 400F.
I emailed support. Their suggestion: replace the pellets. Granted for the. First 3 cooks I used left over pellets we bought the other grill. So, I bought Zgrill brand pellets, same result.
Very disappointed. I am wondering if made a very expensive mistake.

Excellent. I put a lot of research into this, and following the experience my son has with his Zgrill, I purchased mine. Had I known how great cooking/snoking was with the Zgrill, I would have purchased sooner.

Have a grill in Florida, spend summer in Minnesota, purchased a second Z grill for Minnesota. We had family for gathering on Memorial Day, made four slabs of baby back ribs, they all disappeared before I got a taste!
