[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an experienced wood smoker who has gotten too old to tend to wood smoker. I researched pellet grills extensively and decided on the Z Grill 550A because its footprint fit the space I wanted.
I have used twice - Baby Back Ribs and Chicken Legs & Wings. Very satisfied overall with cooking experience and results.
I have a couple of negatives with design: 1) The main cooking rack is too large to be one-piece, very awkward to wash, won’t fit any sink. It should be 2-pc rack.
2) The grid at the top of the hopper should be hinged to fold up, or be removable for removing leftover wood pellets.
Is there a possible retrofit for either of these issues.
Yes, I would recommend this to anyone.

I’m a first time owner of a pellet grill. This grill is very high quality and easy to use. The assembly was manageable for one person and the grill was up and running in no time. I’ve used it multiple time and have loved the results each time. Very consistent and quality results!
