Smoked great, plug arrived bent

It was great except the plug arrived completely smashed and had to be bent back. Needless to say I don’t feel comfortable plugging directly into the outlet so I use an extension cord in case the prongs break off. Hurray!

I thought it was supposed to come with a free grill cover. Perhaps there was a button I was supposed to push. Other then that it's a very nice grill and works well.

The ease of this grill will have you wanting to cook something for every meal! The size is perfect, big enough for a family of 4-6 but also not too big if you’re cooking for yourself and a guest. Cleanup is so simple and quick you will wish you had bought it sooner. It is extremely durable as well! I’ve completed cooks in thunderstorms and high winds and this grill just keeps rolling smoke!

Key flaw of temperature probe

Found this grill and liked the price and saw that it had presets to standard smoking temperatures so it seemed like a great idea. After I got it I smoked a pork butt and was getting ready to go to bed when I realized that the meat probe was reading MUCH higher than it should have. Turns out that the probe the grill uses to set the temperature is located about 6 inches above the grill. This means that while the smoker thinks it is holding 225 you're meat is closer to 325. I placed a series of probes on the grill to get an idea of the heat map and it is much hotter just above the grill. This wouldn't be much of a problem if you could set any temperature but the grill has presets so you have to get creative and really watch it. Not a set it and forget it, I learned all this because when I emailed support I was told that because my issue is not a design flaw there was nothing they can do, which is correct. This grill works the way it was designed too and unfortunately that design was not fully thought out. Also the controller is no malfunctioning after 2 years and if I smoke for more than 4 or 5 hours it give me an error that the grill is getting too hot and shut off so now this things is completely useless. If you want a cheap smoker try something else, this is not the easy to use simple smoker they advertise, it is a trap.

So far it has been great! For the price you can't beat it and the food that comes off of it is amazing. If I ever upgrade I will be looking at another Z Grill for sure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it, The pellet grill does exactly what it is designed to do. Cooks on the precise temperature you said it on. The only thing that needs a little improvement is, I'm 6'3 in height and it's a little shorter than a lot of grill's. So if you guys could make the legs about a foot taller. Then there would be NO GRILL ANYWHERE in the country that comes close. Thanks guys, great job
