This Garmin 55 has the same failure as the Garmin 45; it will not count steps when walking behind a lawnmower. I never had this problem with a Fitbit

Excellent run tracker

Love it, got it about 3 weeks ago, when my other tracker went dead. I’m an avid runner, been running for years, l thought I’ve reached my threshold plateau until I got this Forerunner with free running coach programs, so I’m starting to pace myself better. Looks like I can do better with my new running coach with Garmin!
If you are a new runner and you want a Tracker, go with Garmin. It will give you a baseline running capability tracking and your VO2 max, it will also establish an Emergency personal contact in case you need help, but always listen to your body when you’re out running, it’s always better to be safe.

I had watched a youtube video on how to use the watch before I received it and it was just as easy as I expected to set up and go on my first run! I had been using the apple watch till now and was always frustrated at doing distances over 10 miles or activities over 90 min because the watch would die but the forerunner 55 has fantastic battery life. It does everything most runners or cyclists would want, and besides the lack of a hiking feature or power metrics, it's great

I bought this to do a 10k in my city. It was very helpful in getting an accurate times for my run. Which I spent a bit more money for the overall upgrade variant.
