Everyone in my family has a Garmin. The 55 is the Basic Garmin watch. By basic it still has many features and after a few weeks we are still figuring the features out. Great sports watch at a great price point.

I've had this watch for nearly three years. It's still in excellent condition and functioning great. It's carried me through triathalon training, stroller walks, yoga, indoor bike training, swimming, regular daily life, and so much more. I love the flexibility of the watch faces to display a variety of data. With a quick glance, I can see intensity minutes, steps, calories burned, hr, stress, time, date, etc. I also use the timer function at least 3 times a day. The white color is still vibrant after all this time. The size is great, I'm a 5'7" woman and it looks proportional.

I love this watch. The features it has are amazing. Perfect for running-workouts, daily runs, etc.. The battery life is amazing. I had an Apple Watch previously and there is a vast difference. My only complaint is that messages or phone calls are not answerable on the watch. I am so happy I got 2 as well because I an alternate them and distribute the wear.

Solid basic watch

I was looking for a more basic watch that had the key things like heart rate, fitness tracking, etc. but not too many bells and whistles as I didn't want to break the bank. The watch suits me just fine for logging trail runs/climbs/workouts. There are definitely watches with more features on the market but this is a very good option if you're looking for the basics. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something on the "lower" end.

Durable, simple watch

I didn't want to pay for a fenix because I would be paying for features I wouldn't use. I'm not putting maps or using gps routes on my watch. I just wanted a watch to track my workouts, heart rates, sleep and steps. This does all that. It is a durable watch too.
I was issued a Garmin Instinct and wore it for a long time. The strap on the Instinct would leave my wrist looking nasty (red, flaky skin). None of that with the band I got with this one.
I bought one for my Mom and Dad!
Great buy, worth every penny.

- limited functionalities compare to more expensive watches
Good for beginning but if you're a more intense sport data person / want more (navigation etc), you will need to invest more
