Pure simple digital watch with smart features

I really like the 1+week battery, the standard digital watch face you can download, the simple app controls, even the non touch screen is a plus for me. This specific LCD screen has a better viewing angle than my last Samsung gear watch (and not needing to do a gesture to see the screen as it is always on). The non touch screen keeps my toddler from changing the settings. My only comment is that proprietary connector is a straight plug in the back. Otherwise this is a perfect watch for those that want a simple smartwatch or as I like to describe it as a watch with smart features.

As an 85 year old runner my watch is all important. It came to me preprogrammed so does strange things like when I start a run it shows a certain number of minutes and then the timer goes backward until Ive run this minutes! My last Garmin was a Forerunner 45 and the 55 has more changes than I would have liked as I needed help to get it working. However its an amazing watch and I love it. I could swim in it but I'm afraid to!

A tad sad

Overall I like the watch, just do not like the fact when getting a text my responses like my fitbit had are not an option. I read manual, Googled it etc and still don't have option.

Marathon Training

I decided to sign up for the St. Jude full marathon in December. I purchased Forerunner 55 to help with my workouts. I had one of the original Forerunners 15 plus years ago. I love the new Forerunner 55. I can get a satellite connection within 5 seconds or less going outside. It is great for my long runs or my triathlons. I was also amazed at how light it was on my arm. The Garmin app is pretty cool and easy to use. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have been running with this watch for a few weeks now, and it is perfect! The stop and start feature is very accessible, and the watch tracks your distance very accurately. If you are looking for a good running watch, get the forerunner 55!

Simple and effective

I’ve had my Forerunner 55 for two years. I was looking for a simple GPS watch without much need for extra features. It has been a great watch for runs of all distances, HIIT workouts, and general health data. The battery life and durability are fantastic.
