First Fitness Watch

I bought this watch ~6 months ago to track running workouts.
The data it provides keeps me motivated and informed in ways I did not expect. Now I can't imagine NOT wearing a watch that monitors heart rate, stress levels, sleep, and tracks exercises.
I plan on upgrading to a watch that has navigation features for wilderness hikes in the next 12 months. This was a great place to start.

Forerunner 40 comparison to Forerunner 55

I was used to the features I used on the Forerunner 40. The only improvement I've noticed on the Forerunner 55 is the ease at resetting the stop watch back to zero. But the size of the splits are so small I am unable to to read them. I miss the ability to review the stats of a run I saved on my watch without having to download it into the Connect Ap. The GPS works great. Thanks.

Good watch for a runner

I bought the Forerunner 55 to replace my 35. I like all the features, even though I'm still learning what it will do and how it works. My only complaint is the watch face. It's almost to dark to read unless I'm in good light. I can press the light button, but that's a pain. I should have a brighter, easier to read, watch face.

Not Impressed - NO BRIGHTNESS OPTION!

The watch is too dark and I DO NOT have the BRIGHTNESS option in either activity/non-activity screen.

Great watch, but GPS takes too long to connect.

The watch is great and has all the features I wanted. It is easy to use and the screens are simple to navigate. My only complaint is that the GPS takes longer to connect than my previous watch. I sync the GPS before every run, but it still takes longer than I expected.

We are happy that you are enjoying the device, however on the GPS issue we would encourage you to use the Garmin Express app on your computer to update the Ephemeris data on the device.
