I bought one of this watch for my wife last year. Guess what a day after warranty elapsed, the phone stop working and all what I have is watch with flashing green screen. I thought that Samsung product has a good quality control. I think, the current products does not live to the old reputation. If you buy it, please buy the extended warranty you certainly are going to use it

Charging issue + Discolored
on September 28, 2021

I don't know what's wrong with this watch, but it overheats when it's charging. As you can see in the pictures the bottom of the watch changed color due to extremely high temperature. I've contacted the Samsung support team and it's currently on the repair.

Not an upgrade

Very disappointed in this product. I loved my original galaxy watch and decided to "upgrade" to the galaxy watch 4 classic. It wasn't an upgrade. With all the features enabled my original galaxy watch would still be around 50% battery after 24 hours. With the same settings on the watch 4 it's not even close. The last two days its not even making it 20 hours. The apps in the watch don't seem to be the battery drain, so it's either the sensors or the operating system. The sensors in the original watch didn't kill the battery that bad, so I'm guessing it's the OS on the watch 4. Wear OS is not an upgrade to Tizen, there aren't that many watch apps in the play store, and most of them are just step counters, calorie trackers, or music players. How many of those do you need? Still no Google Assistant, and really that's not going to be that big a deal anyway.... it's a watch. Samsung would be better off ditching Wear OS and going back to Tizen, we all know Google will stop developing Wear OS anyway, just like most of the other projects they release. The extra features the watch 4 has over the original watch just aren't that important. ECG is not really that useful, Body Composition is not that accurate, and Blood Pressure isn't even available in the US. Today is the last day I could return this watch. I'm probably going to keep it and see if samsung can save it through software updates, but I'm not hopeful. In the meantime, I'll go back to my original galaxy watch and know it will be there all day for me.

Found battery life fix

I purchased this watch as an upgrade from the Active 2, because I wanted the Pulse O2 that Samsung removed from the phones.
The good: The watch has features that the active 2 lacked. I had believed it was getting the actual on demand pulse O2 measurements, this watch actually has them. The ECG works well, I like that it monitors your oxygen levels while sleeping as well.
I did find battery like was lower than the Active and Active 2. What seemed to be the issue was that the GPS was always on, because when I turned that off the battery life improved dramatically. I just put it on charge after a day of use and it was at 67%. It is estimated to last nearly 3 days with my usage, but I'll probably charge it every day or 2, and I'll turn GPS on for activities that I want to track my course for. That seems to be the factor as the Active 2 seemed to need a short time to get GPS connection for activities, so it seems to have been off unless you did an activity that was going to have GPS tracking.
I hope this helps others that are having a battery issue with their watch. I just switch to my "old" active 2 when I'm charging the watch 4.
My watch is the black, not the green

Not bad

I got the 42 mm but it still feels a little big on me since I have a small wrist. Helps out with notifications, fitness, etc.; however, after a while its battery starts to drain faster even if you keep it on the charger before using it, and sometimes it would it freeze so you would have to factory reset to let it work properly

I bought this watch in October of 2021. Looks sleek, and I liked the health data. All nice while it lasted but within one year it just stopped turning on after receiving a software update.

Battery life is ridiculously short. Did all the things to increase battery to no avail. Only useful thing is sleep tracker but 100% charged battery lasts maybe 4 hours so no info will be available.

Body Composition rarely works. It always says hands are touching when they are not. Battery life is below average. This watch is a disappointment considering the things it does well can be achieved at 1/3 the price with other companies.
