I thought I really like the Watch 4 but I am having two frustrating problems with it: 1. I would like to track my water intake in the Samsung Health app through the Watch4. However, when I select Complication and assign Samsung Health Water to the complication, a water glass icon shows in the widget field, but there is no number shown in the widget field for the number of glasses. In addition, when I tap on the water widget/complication, the screen goes dark, so I can't enter glasses of water consumed. I've had to use a different widget for glasses of water instead of the Samsung Health Water complication. As a result, I don't get water glass tracking beyond what is entered in the 24 hour period, then it restarts. 2. I crosscountry ski and want to track it. If I track it on the watch, it doesn't track distance or altitude, just heart rate and duration show up as tracked in the Samsung Health app as tracked by the Galaxy Watch 4. If I wear the watch while tracking it with the Samsung Health application on my Samsung S20 phone, the heart rate isn't tracked in the Samsung Health app event for crosscountry skiing. It only shows the distance, speed, and altitude.

Worst Galaxy watch so far

I can hands down state this Watch's fatal flaw is Wear OS. Tizen was way superior in response times, battery life, connection consistency, and well pretty much everything else the Watch did. All my previous versions lasted minimum 2.5 days. This one? Barely 1. The various sensors are super finicky. Watch 3? I could still wiggle like a human and get a result. Both my old Watch 3 and this one are the same size, but somehow this one looks smaller. It has less presence. I 100% regret trading in my Watch 3. Samsung needs to ditch Google and stick with what worked. Tizen is superior in the watch front. There's a reason why Android watches were talking and only Samsung had a chance at competing with Apple. Wear OS just plain sucks. Android itself has grown too bloated for its own good. Now the shining star in Samsung's crown has been tarnished by the Android inefficiencies.

Watch Active 2 was better

I recently traded in my watch active 2 for this watch, hoping to pull some value out of my old one before it depreciated too much, but honestly, I regret it. The watch active 2, even 2 years old, had a better battery life than this brand new one with the same features enabled and use factors. This one barely makes it through one day with minimal use. If you have an older model, my recommendation is to save your money and wait for whatever comes next. If you don't have any smart watch yet, buy an older model. I'm a big Samsung fan, with a laptop, phone, TV, and watch from them, and I do recommend Samsung Watches overall especially if you have a Galaxy phone, but this one is not impressive in comparison to their previous.

Very happy with the product and I've even designed a few faces of my own and after the recent watch software update, for some reason, all faces, even the standard ones, don't keep the proper time when in standby mode, it's normally up to 25 minutes behind but, corrects itself when tapped for full display mode, any suggestions?

Wear OS Sucks

If you're upgrading from a previous Galaxy Watch, you're going to hate the new Wear OS. Changing watch faces is a nightmare now and I won't be buying another Galaxy Watch if I can't use the Galaxy Store. Google doesn't make it easy to switch and customize faces, but you have no choice now thanks to Samsung's decision to use Google's Wear OS operating system.

I've had this watch for a number of months and it has performed as expected. I get 2 days of battery life. Once when the battery was running down far too quickly, I did some research and went back to the 2 days I'm used to. I suggest that owners of this watch find and watch that video. Clearing the watch cache is supposed to solve a variety of issues that crop up with Samsung smart watches. Samsung would do well to add an app that automates this maintenance process.

I got the new watch so that I could have features like being able to answer my phone and listen to music on my watch. I am disappointed with how big the 40mm is now with the flat display vs the active that had the rounded display. This is geared more for men as opposed women with how big it is. I do like the extra features, but having such a large watch is just not that practical for someone with a small wrist. I would like to see Samsung give a smaller option that still provides upgraded features.
