Mostly OK, but

the battery life is not 40 hours as claimed. I have found less than 30 hours without charging.
the ECG function requires a lockscreen
I had the Galaxy 3. Because of a different OS, some of the apps I purchased won't work on the new watch.
the sensors are iffy, I sometimes have to restart the app to get my heart rate or stress levels.
The default rubber / plastic band has a weird design - you have to tuck the end under the rest of the band.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this as an upgrade to my Garmin Fenix 5x watch. Now I am having some regrets, especially when it comes to battery life. The battery does not last a day on this watch. I had my Garmin loaded with apps and it lasted several days. This Samsung watch drains fast without additional apps loaded.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Battery life

I bought it a couple of months ago. It has been working ok, until yesterday. Last I noticed that my battery was down to 5%. I did not check to see if the battery was fully charged.
This morning I made sure that the battery was fully charged and the same thing happened, the battery was at 15% at 7:00pm.
Until yesterday the charge was good for 2 days. I have not changed anything.
What could be causing this?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not worth it.

This was a definite waste of money. I am very upset. I'm going to try and return it. This product has ZERO battery life (8-10hrs), and I am being extremely generous. What is the point of trying to track sleep if you have to charge it by the end of the evening. Don't buy this one.

Battery is awful!

I used to have a Galaxy Active 2 and it was great. The only reason I got this watch was that it was being offered by my cell service and my Active 2's screen suddenly went on the fritz. Needless to say, I was devastated. I like the look of the 4 and it has most of the features of the Active 2. My hugest gripe with it is the battery life. I am a water instructor and some days spend a few hours in the water. I kid you not, I started at 9am with 98% battery and when I got out at 1pm, it was drained to 32%. WHY!!! THe Active 2 would go through 2 days of the same actions and not be drained so bad. Samsung was nice enough to replace my 4 and the same issue is happening. Yes, I have read the majority of the forums, installed updates, etc and it is still happening. I ran an experiment with the second watch against my son's smartwatch (not for the accuracy or anything else) for battery life on water lock. I did not have to charge the the watch for 5 days and one of those was in the water for 4 hours. The Galaxy Watch...started at 100%...drained to 31%. Samsung...why did you mess with a good thing? Battery life is essential. People want quality. if things actually last for sometime, people tend to come back because you have a solid product. I like your other products (TVs, Blu-Ray players, etc) b/c the quality is good and I am willing to spend the money on it knowing it will last, but now I am considering a different company for a smartwatch.

Very good features

I have had this watch for a while now. I almost returned it because the battery life was so bad. But, I found out I couldn't get my old watch back. So, I wanted a smart watch and decided to keep it. Over time, I got used to the poor battery life because, the watch has some really good features. The heart rate monitor is a little suspect. But, I can overlook that as well.
A few days ago, my watch battery was drained about 3-4 hours after a full charge. I put it on the charger and after a full charge, put it back on. The next morning I checked to make sure I didn't need to put it back on the charger and it was still at 100%. Several hours later, it had gone down to only 94%. So, the charge lasted me a couple of days. I checked out the battery settings and at some point, Samsung updated the watch with a battery saver option. I went from liking my watch to almost loving it. I'm very happy with the improvement.
Now, if you all could get the heart rate monitor corrected, that would be great. I have been sitting still and my heart rate measures well over 120. I caught it a few minutes later and checked my heart rate had dropped to 73. I think I would know if my heart rate is over 100 bpm. After a workout, my heart rate is lower than my resting heart rate. So, there is definitely a problem.
I really do like the watch. I want to love it. The display is beautiful and I like the many features. Now, if we could get them all to work with a decent battery life, it would be a great watch.

Great watch HORRIBLE battery life

I really wish samsung would do something about the battery life of their smart watches. This is the third one that I've owned (also had the Active and earlier gear watch 2). They start off giving you about a day and a half to two days. by six months to a year your are needing to charge it twice a day. Forget about wearing it for sleep monitoring, if you do it will be dead before lunch the next day. I feel like any smart watch should give you at least 3 days per charge, this is not the case with Samsung (apple watches are not much better). Samsung comments on all these bad reviews but they don't really seem to be listening to their customers as this has been an issue for more than 5 generations of Galaxy watches.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was so excited to upgrade from my original Galaxy watch. This is such a let down! How can a new "updated" version perform so poorly?! The battery life is garbage. Won't last a whole day, what is that? I got a new watch to do more not be more limited. So frustrated.
