Hi. We are a property management company and purchased this appliance for our rental unit. It was purchased in 2021 since the beginning we had problems. It was reported that the washer was not working and we were able to catch the problem on 11/8/2022 the warranty expired on 12/21/2022. The warranty techs reported the control board needed to be fixed which we thought they did on 2/15/2023. The tenants reported a problem that the washer door hinge wasn't opening 8/6/2023. We sent our own repair man and he stated that the control board needed to be changed which we thought it was. We called whirlpool and they said that the machine is no longer under warranty despite the techs giving us a non working control board. Can someone contact either by contacting us or emailing us . Thank you

Whirlpool has great products...not this model!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first washer did three loads and quit. All computerized circuits not working. Got a new one which worked for five loads and the same thing happened. Had to pay a electrician to check power source which turned out to be good. No explanation as to why this keeps happening.

Does a great job - just one issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the performance of the washer, except for the fact that I have a hard time getting it to turn on. The instructions say to hold the power button down until the power comes on - sometimes I have to hold it down several times before the power comes on. Once, I held it and timed for a full 3 minutes - power didn't come on. Sometimes, I hold it for 5 or 10 seconds several times, then suddenly it will come on. Its very frustrating.

New washer in new motorhome. Have had to replace the control board twice. Now out of warranty, what are you going to do whirlpool with all these defective washers? How about a recall? Or class action suit may be coming your way!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 1 year ago and had problems 6 months or less after owning. I’ve had 6 parts put into this washer and had 3 service technicians that don’t know what they are doing and trying to repair. It is still not fixed since last repair . Whirlpool refuses to replace it. Service technicians couldn’t even figure out how to remove the cover and dented it. It has to be replaced. They stripped screws and had to replace parts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Washer is installed in a Class A RV, and has not ever worked. Diagnostic mode does not function, unable to get anyone to look at it and repair. We need this to be able to travel with handicapped adult.

A very disappointing washing machine
on October 16, 2023

I will start with this washer's MAJOR ease of use/quality of life problem. The "touchscreen" buttons. They simply do not detect your finger properly. You often have to press the power button and pause/start button multiple times before they will register your touch, and then often the machine will detect too many button presses, turning the machine back off after you had intended to start it, or vice versa. Simply using regular buttons in the design would have solved this issue. This issue should have been addressed well before this product was released.
The issue above, however, is not my main gripe with this machine. I moved into an apartment with this washer at the end of May 2023. At the time of writing, it is October 2023. I have seen quite a few other reviews mentioning that issues pop up around the 5-month mark.
All of the sudden, one day, my washer would begin a load, and then a few minutes later, stop. I had a friend living in the same apartment building, so I didn't think too much of it, and just used their washing machine (the same model) until I had time to take a look at mine. A week later or so, I started the washer up again to see what the issue might be. To my surprise, the door would not open, and it seemed like the washer was trying to drain constantly. I looked through the manual and did some troubleshooting online. I cleaned out the drain pump filter. There was some excess water that drained out. I tried the washer again and had the same result. It was continuously attempting to drain even while no water was in the machine, and the door would remain locked. I then checked the drain hose for clogs. There were none. A common solution online was to let the pump run for a few minutes and it would fix itself. I was hesitant at the prospect of letting the pump run dry, but I was desperate, so I tried it anyway. No luck. The pump was still working fine after, so I guess I have to give it up to Whirlpool for making a durable pump.
With the easy options exhausted, it seems that my only choice now to is to call a repair technician or attempt to find out what part is at fault and replace it myself. Some results online suggest that water level sensor could be broken, but I have no way of confirming that. Unfortunately, my dryer sits on top of my washer, and accessing this part would be a major hassle, as I don't have much space in my apartment.
After just 5 months, a washing machine should not be having problems like this. I hope Whirlpool takes these problems seriously.
