Love the tailgater. Bought our first one used 5 years ago. It finally quit, so ordered a new one. I do prefer the old analog( turn a knob) rather than new digital, but figuring it out, slowly but surely.

Traeger always succeeds with making great grills. Only concern would be the legs, a bit cumbersome to fold up and down. But all things considered a great portable traeger.

great tasting food, pellets don't feed properly

First off the the food that has come off has been very good. The problem is that the pellets did/do not feed properly from the hopper (I've checked and double checked the install of the hopper to ensure it was mounted properly.). This has caused the fire to go out multiple times while cooking and resulted in babysitting the grill to ensure the pellets continued to feed. Even doing this did not prevent the issue as walking away for 15 minutes could result in the fire going out. The most recent time I used the grill the pellets again did not feed properly and the fire went out. Unfortunately; while trying to restart the grill too many pellets were feed into the fire box. This caused a fire inside the grill area which burned hot enough to bake off the black paint. The grill should be salvageable after cleaning and sandblasting the effected areas off paint and repainting with high heat paint.

Great little grill

Love this grill for portability. Stows away nicely in our RV storage. Flaw one I find is, the handles are not to be desired. Come on Traeger, you can do better than cheap plastic handles that feel like they will snap any minute. Flaw number 2 is the folding legs are a pain folding and unfolding. Spring assist, easy stow away legs would be nice. Food taste awesome from this grill, love the new controller.

Great little smoker

I use this thing every weekend and has held up great so far, I like how portable the smoker is. Makes it easy to move around outside and take it places. Has a good amount of grilling space inside it.

I have owned the Pro 22, the Pro 34 and have added the Tailgater to take with us while camping. The new style of control panel takes a bit getting used to. It is very much different in design and function. We bought the Tailgater at the California State Fair and got a very good deal however, the sales rep told us the Tailgater weighed approximately 45 pounds which I have found out is not accurate at all. This unit is closer to 70 pounds. The way the temperature stick inside is wired with a very long lead seems a bit awkward. I took the bottom panel off and threaded the excess wire down and under and zip tied it in place. Without doing this, the excess wire is just bundled up between the smoker barrel and the pellet hopper. Clunky design. Assembly took about 30-40 minutes.
