I’ve had my Junior Elite for seven years now. Has worked flawlessly since the day I bought it. I love to cook ribs, brisket, pulled pork and some chicken recipes also. Trying to get enough money to buy another Traeger. Something a little bigger. It’s been the best Investment I have ever made. Buy one I guarantee you’ll be happy.

Caution

This model grill (Tailgater) is fine at high temperatures (250+ degrees), but will not maintain low smoking temps - 180 degrees or less. The lowest temp I could achieve was 220 degrees and could not get the "warm" function - 165 degrees - to work.

Doesn't Last Long

I received this grill a little over a year ago as a gift and was very excited about it until it began to no longer work how it used to. The Traeger will get to temp slolwy but surely, and then pellet box will begin to smoke as soon as I place something on the grill which will then ruin my food because the traeger will not keep temp. I have to turn off the traeger, completely empty the grill and pellet box and use the traeger de-greaser to clean hoping this helps, it doesn't. Sad to see what I thought was going to be my favorite grill go to the trash.

Going to upgrade once this one dies

I have had a tailgater for 5 years from the kids on my 60th. We hardly ever use the oven any more and the grills were send to the dumpster. Mine has no temp probe but cooks everything perfect if I temp it. It has so many hours of use the paints bubbling on top and the grease tray is warped, but still works.

Disappointment

I have had this grill for a couple of years now. The temperature fluctuations are ridiculous especially at the lower temperatures. I try to smoke a pork shoulder at 225 and the temp goes down to 225 and then up to 325. Way too much fluctuation. It is getting worse as it cooks. I have to constantly monitor the temperature. I am very disappointed.

Short Lifespan

Shuts off constantly in the middle of cooking regardless if it was just cleaned out. Worked for the first year great so I take it the components just wear down. Not worth the money.

Large in a small package.

Never had a smoker grill before. Have had this one for years. Absolutely love it. It’s never let me down or failed to perform. It’s the only grill we use. I like smoked food, the wife doesn’t. This grill allows me to do both. The temperature setting does all the heavy lifting. Thanks Traeger.

Had this for 5 years now, still works like new

I use my Traeger 2 to 3 days a week and every weekend: rain, snow or shine... Even in Sub-Zero temps. I have had only 1 flame-out in those 5 years (1st time used it, didn't let it preheat long enough). I'd buy another if this one ever dies after rebuilding the replaceable parts that wear out a few times.
