Bought this 4 to 5 years ago never did work right ! It tried to melt itself twice burned the paint off! Have to watch all the time

Hello, and thanks for your review of the Tailgater 20. As long as grease is not building up inside the grill and igniting, you really shouldn’t be seeing this kind of heat damage to the coating. If you believe there is something with the grill itself that is causing the paint to burn, you should definitely reach out to Traeger support and have an agent check everything with you. Although your Tailgater is no longer under warranty, we’d still be happy to help diagnose the problem, even using the camera on your phone for a live video, so that both you and the agent can visually go over the issue together.

My wife and I have been married for 30 years and this is that best grill we have ever owned. Its easy to use and easy to clean. Only cooking for two this is the perfect size plus we can take it with us if we need to. Love it !
