I purchased this the Timberline 1300 back in Sep 2020 to the surprise of my wife. To this day I don’t regret it at all, it was by far the best purchase I’ve made in years! Family and friends are always excited when we have them over to smoke some meats.

I absolutely love it. All the features are amazing. Heats quick and maintains temp within a degree. I’ve done a Turkey and Prime Rib. Great flavor good smoke ring and flavor. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my husband's Christmas gift and he loves it. It's easy to assemble and he kept commenting on all the cool features. So far we've done brisket, venison roast, and ribs. We host a big block party every summer and typically borrow our neighbor's smaller smoker. The party is getting more popular, so we decided that we needed to get a bigger one to help feed the crowd.

Bought this 6 years ago. Cooks great, easy to use, great customer support. The wi-Fi connection is my favorite feature. It allows me to watch my cook and make minor adjustments from anywhere. Fits my lifestyle perfectly.

I have had this Grill for 18 months...

I have had this Grill for 18 months and am overall very happy with my purchase. This is definitely a set it and forget it grill. I have cooked Ribs, Pork Belly, Pork Shoulder and Boston Butt. All came out perfect. I have tried to actually "Grill" at 500 degrees and it does heat to 500 degrees but uses a lot more pellets. I still have another Natural Gas grill that I use for searing and steak. I cold smoke at 170, super smoke mode and supplement with 1 smoke tube. Applewood is my wood of choice. Then I render at 275 and the pellet use is acceptable. The smoke rings are deep and flavorful. After several dozen cooks, i have had the controller act strange once. It would not ignite so like any other computer I powered down and did a reboot and it worked great. Keep it clean and maintained and you will get many years of delicious bbq.

Not what was promised

I have been a Traeger fan for years, not my first Traeger, and I have loved all the fun cookout times that I have had.
I bought this grill during the original release, I got in line and felt fortunate enough to get one within a few weeks of the original shipping date.
I have worked in embedded systems development for years, and I got about what I expected when I saw a grill company trying to design an internet of things device, quite a steep learning curve on the part of Traeger, and a lot of patience from me.
I had a unit replaced because of an inexplicable blower fan error. I had a board replaced because the wifi antenna that they designed into it does not have sufficient positive lock and it came loose in shipping. I put up with all of the tunings and retunings of the PID control of the system, either causing the thing to spew smoke for the whole cook, or go out, or backup. I learned to dread the next firmware update, and what new quirks it was going to bring.
A year or so in and I worked through all those issues with Traegers help, much happier now that so many of the firmware bugs were getting resolved, it has been more reliable, and I loved that I could program up my cooks and start them at night and wake up in the morning and expect it to be doing exactly the right thing at the right time. These were fantastic times, and I finally started feeling like I was getting what I paid for.
Then the updates started to get worse. Unannounced database updates making it so my unit wouldn't show up without an app update, obfuscation of the only part of the app that I care about which is to control my grill, nonsensical "improvements" to the UI on the phone just making it harder to do what I needed to do.
Now with the latest app update I can't see my carefully curated custom cook cycles unless i use the manual interface on the front of the grill, and I don't believe that i can trust that to be there the next time I power it on and get an OTA update.
I'm one firmware update away from selling this thing and getting something else.
I've been a die hard traeger fan since I first started but they are making it really hard to stay that way. I still appreciate the patience and responsiveness of their dealers and customer support, but man the app is terrible, and I feel like I am at the mercy of the firmware update schedule. For a top of the line product, this was anything other than a top of the line experience.

Purchased the Timberline 1300, refuses to connect to WiFi even when basically sitting on the range extender. Trouble shooting instructions on app don’t match grill menu. Dealer says call Traeger and Traeger doesn’t return calls. So disappointing, now stuck trying to deal with this lemon.
