Excellent quality! Heavy duty materials. Very well constructed. Someone did their homework on the design.

Dissapointed

I have had trouble with my touchpad start button from day one; in summary, it has to be worse, before they would send repair parts for a NEW grill. It is a nonresponsive interface issue that occurred immediately at purchase. I work with software and automation for a living, so I know what I am talking about when I say the automation program is poorly written. At the same time, the wifi connection along with the app need large amounts of attention. I fumble with connection issues, and I do this for a living; using a Traeger should be a stress-free and unique experience. This is my second and likely last Traeger, as I see the quality goes down while the prices go up. I built my own controller and program before giving it to my neighbor, and I get to smell my success wafting into my yard every weekend; I should have kept it. I am sure with the wifi connection, Traeger can see how little I use this grill; it is no longer enjoyable.

Near perfect

I love my New 1300 !!! My review would be a perfect 5 star... except for 2 issues I see with the design.
1. No Front Shelf option is available. The 5" SS front is absolutely useless!
2. It only has one Temp Probe port... Traeger could fix this easily by updating the software to work with the Meater wireless probes like the New Timberline XL. Considering how many of these older 1300's are out there - imagine how many more Traeger x MEATER you could sell!!!

I bought my Timberline 1300 about 7 years ago and you coundn't ask for a better smoker. I had a little issue with it learning how to operate it because u had been using an electric smoker and the board died.
I smoke whatever I want and it always turns out depending on the grade of meat. My wife does not like brisket but when one gets smoked, she's the first one in line.
Keep it clean and replace the parts as needed and you will have smooth smoking. I had the igniter go out and the thermocoupler, replaced them after 6 1/2 years and works like new. Easy for me to replace but you have to pay attention.

I bought this grill almost 2 years ago and have enjoyed most of the features. I like the idea of it being double insulated, the controller works great, the meat always come out very flavorful, but I have had trouble with grease fires. Over time, I have had 4 of them, not sure why. If it wasn't for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

Hello, and thanks for reviewing the Timberline 1300. There are very few causes of grease fires, so it should be easy to figure out what is causing them on your Timberline. While proper maintenance is the most effective step for avoiding grease fires, it is probably safe to assume that this is not related to your situation. When you have a chance, please reach out to Traeger Customer Service and have one of agents take a look at the grill with you through the camera on your cellphone. In circumstances like this, the sooner it is addressed, the better, and our lines are open every day of the year.

Worked good when it wanted to and that wasn’t very often. Dumb thing wouldn’t keep temp!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, and thanks for providing your review of the Timberline 1300. All grills in the Timberline series come fully insulated to maintain temperature, even during the cold winter months. However, in this particular case it is not clear if the variance is above or below what is expected, so it's difficult to address directly. But whichever it is, you can always call Traeger Customer Service with any concerns that you have with your Timberline. One of our agents can check over the entire grill with you through the camera on your phone, and even do a test run to make sure nothing gets overlooked on the way to providing a resolution.
