Great pellet grille ease of use extremely easy set up was simple a couple beers and done /recipes available on website is never ending/ smoked a brisket as my first cook probably one of my best briskets smoke ring was incredible meat was moist regret waiting so long to purchase this grille

Wi-Fire Terrible

I received this for Christmas. The Wi-Fire wouldn’t connect. We did some troubleshooting but nothing worked. We called Traeger support, and they said to get a 2.4G extender. We set it up, and that didn’t work either. We use a Netgear Nighthawk that has both 2.4 and 5G. After many hours over 2days, no success. Called the store where we bought it, and they mentioned receiving lots of feedback about wi-fi issues. Chose this over Camp Chef for the quality, but Traeger didn’t extend the quality to their wi-fi (my BIL’s Camp Chef wi-fi connected with no troubleshooting). Unhappy customer.

Great piece of kit dose exactly what it says food is spot on every time from small quick bbq to a long slow brisket

Poor build and design quality.

I purchased the 850 2 years ago and it’s been a love hate relationship. After a month the control board had to be replaced because the thermostat wasn’t working properly. The drip pan overtime becomes warped and I think this is the cause of improper grease drip removal which causes fires. The final straw happened about a month ago when the bolt (there are only 2 that hold the entire lid) snapped and despite multiple attempts to remove the broken bolt half that remains in the Traeger I am left with a lid that only is hanging in by one bolt. I’m dumping the Traeger and replacing with another smoker. The build quality at this price point is subpar. I find this issue to be a design fault. There should be a bracket along the back of the lid to carry this type of weight.

Don't expect a smoke flavor

As far as a grill goes it's a great product. I have wanted a traeger forever because I love smoking. I preached Traegers to everyone. But if you love anything with a smoke flavor don't waste your money. I have cooked on super smoke for hours and still doesn't have a smoke flavor at all. My first master built that uses chips was so much better. I no longer recommend to anyone if you love true bbq smoke flavoring. I have had it 2 years and it has never given that smoke flavor. Don't waste your money.
